IMO odds are much higher that this is somewhat recently released technology or just straight up hokum than actual alien probes which were just now conveniently brought center stage.

I will say that I did find a post which I made a thread about here which said that there had been an increase in pilots reporting seeing UFPs and the source wasn't just twitter, it was posts on pilot boards. That doesn't mean it's aliens though.
