I switch it up every now and then but I feel like I get no real benefit from biking vs cardio.

If you're talking about the version where one wears a phallic shaped helmet, skin tight spandex complete with fake sponsor logos, and pedals around with an intensely focused scowl on their face all while blowing through stop signs, not using the bike lane, and completely ignoring traffic laws.......................then yeah it's ****gy.

I did it for a long time. It's great, especially if you have scenic places to ride. I wouldn't do it like I did before because our roads have become too dangerous. I would keep my fitness on a stationary bike and drive my bike to places to ride, if I took it up again.

No, the cardio you get from riding a bike is one of the best feels. Great for you, plus it’s freeing to ride around in an active manner in the fresh air.

Problem is you’re probably going to get hit by a car eventually and in the meantime you’ll be inconveniencing everyone else on the road. Stick to bike trails in parks and such.

I am kind of heavy for bike tires so I must get better ones. However, when I had a mountain bike I used to bike everywhere and I loved it.

fun but your area needs good biking lanes for it to be worth it.

also bike maintenance can be annoying. I've had multiple bike wheels break on me.
Then, parts were hard to come by (at least during "pandemic")

It's a pain in the ass.

I have gotten countless flats and it takes the joy out of biking.

I am seeing if I can get solid wheels.

Imagine mountaining biking hard up to the top of a mountain only to have a fatty on an e-bike fly past you and laughing at you.

I spent a pretty penny on two cervelo TT/Tri bikes with HED carbon disc wheels only to not have ridden them in a year because of all of my travels. Feelsbadman.
