Is Cuba a good spot to be a tourist?

I was contemplating a vacation there for 1 week. I know it is still marxist, but how do you find the tourist attractions? Beaches? Boats? Is it dangerous? The place I want to book for is called Valentin Perla Blanca. I would be travelling with my bro and his girl.
