700-pound alligator kills Florida woman, 85

https://people.com/human-interest/11...lking-her-dog/

An 85-year old woman was attacked and killed by an alligator on Monday in Florida, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.

The incident took place at a 55-plus living community near the city of Fort Pierce, according to FOX 35 Orlando and local news station WPTV 5. The alligator was estimated to be about 11 feet long and weighed 600 to 700 lbs., per the latter outlet.

Authorities say the woman, identified as Gloria Serge, "was walking her small dog along a retention pond in her community" when the alligator "pulled her into the water after attempting to take her dog," according to a statement obtained by PEOPLE from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

"The victim died as a result of the incident and has been recovered," added the spokesperson, who went. onto note that serious injuries stemming from alligator attacks are rare in Florida.

Residents told WPTV 5 that the woman — whose name has not yet been released — was walking her dog just after noon on Monday when an alligator approached and snatched her dog.

The dog survived the attack, according to WPTV 5.

Fuark. Just imagine making it all those years all the way to 85 only for you do get eaten by a gator. Not disease, cancer, war, an automobile accident, but a fuarking hungry gator.

Euthanized.

IDK if the old lady lived in FL long, but it doesn't sound like she's a native if she willingly walks a dog several feet away from a large body of water.

ANY body of water in Florida is a "possible alligator home" to me, srs.

Alligator was clearly after the dog. Her being 85 and out of shape, she should've let it have the dog and run tbh, as awful as that sounds. Seemed to me like she actually attempted to fight it off...

Always find it weird they just let those live in ponds 1-2 ft from your back porch in Florida

Can't they just move them to designated areas?

uncensored full vid? Also, imagine leaving some liberal city sh*thole to get away from all the dingers when you retire just to be deleted by some alligator.

The dogs reflexes were better that day.

The gator was killed for doing gator things in it's natural habitat.

But after acquiring the taste for human blood, that gator would have hunted down all the old, horny, and lonely women in your area.
