*Official National Divorce Thread*

As some of you may know I've always been a supporter of the concept of secession as I find the idea of using threats of violence to force people to cooperate to be both stupid and evil. One of the silver linings of recent events has been, to me, the extent to with this has become a real discussion. I first remember it with calexit when communists got so upset about Trump that they threatened to secede, but it has really ramped up with the current administration breaking the incredibly naive and idealistic view of the federal government through their abuse of power and disregard for tradition.

My personal favorite on this topic is Michael Malice



Open discussion of this topic as welcome; trolling is also welcome. Whatever your misgivings or apprehensions on this topic are, they are likely founded in misunderstanding combined with a fear of change.

We now live in a world where our government is willing to let its people live in a chemical disaster with no aid because they're on the wrong side of politics. I don't know about you, but I'm really not interested in seizing the levers of power and trying to force the other side to obey. It's much, much better to simply go our separate ways.

But most of us living in blue states did not vote for them, know they hold none of our values and they do not represent us in any way, so what would be the value of writing them when I know it will just go in the trash can? A true national divorce would take a generation to resolve. There's too much that needs to happen. Too many dumpy blue cesspools within red states. Too many radical Leftist corporations inside *every* state.

Republicans refusing to be activists in politics is why the Democrats have become so successful over the years.

"What's the point of voting (or writing, etc)" was created due to inaction by Republicans. It would have never gotten this bad if Republicans would have been more aggressive defending their values.

'National divorce' doesn't mean split into two. Culturally there are at least 8 societies in America. We think of them in terms of red and blue to varying degrees because we have a retarded central government with a two party system.

There would be significant challenges involved, but it's a thing that needs to happen regardless.

That being said there are a number of different ways it could happen. County by county is possible, which would somewhat address what you're bringing up. The thing is when people are given the option to disassociate, it generates compromise. These liberal megacities full of drones have incentive to negotiate with the people around them, because those people have the option to tell them to fuk off. Conceptually the same way international diplomacy and trade work now.

Most of us are probably aware pat is just venting her tears here but lest anyone think otherwise, Dr Drew contributes almost nothing of substance in this discussion. He's mostly just asking questions, and they're mostly the typical sort of pedestrian questions you'd get from someone that's never looked into this before.
