RE 4 remake drops 3/24/23

Anyone looking forward to this one?

I thought RE 2 remake was great. Have not played RE 3 remake yet but reviews aren't great. Cautiously optimistic that the RE 4 remake will be good. I don't think there is any chance it will be better than the original which was pretty much perfect.

Can't wait. The original is my all time favorite game and I've got the collectors edition preordered for this. Not everything I see is positive though.

A lot of the voices seem off. Krauser sounds like a tryhard 17 year old trying to be tough, Salazar is a downgrade, Ada is terrible, Luis is off and super disrespected as a character, (etc...). Leon is being a dick for no reason to Luis, when they seemed to play off eachother with respect in the original. They used to feel like two guys in a **** situation just happy to have a bit of comfort/support for eachother, and could have actually ended up as friends had things not gone down the way they did. Now Luis just comes off as a loser I want to ditch ASAP.

Still looks great and it seems like nothing was cut (definitely didn't expect the double El Gigante fight to stay in, AND they added Luis for that section!). The QTEs replaced with actual gameplay (us controlling Leon in the knife fight) is super cool.

I am excited for more Luis in the story, but I hope they don't overdo him being our partner. I like my RE4 solitary. Keep that AI partner stuff for RE5 (or better yet, don't).

Mercs being DLC is stupid, and doesn't bode well for Seperate Ways.

Overall, still looks fantastic. Can't wait

No other game had me more excited to start all over from the beginning than RE 4. I think I started over 5 times before moving on to a different game.

I've been trying to avoid watching reviews because I don't need other people's opinions in my head before I even try the damn game. Apparently some people didn't like the Island section of the original. I don't agree, I think it's great. Glad they kept it.

I’m not sure if anybody is in the same boat as me -> this is probably my most replayed game of all time now that I think about it. I remember playing it on GameCube, beating it, and replaying it with the post-game weapons probably 2-3 times. Then I got it on Wii and it had different unique weapons so I played it again 2-3 times


Now, despite being in my top 10 games, I have no desire to buy/replay it because I’ve already played through it so many times

I’ve probably played it 3 times but it’s been well over a decade.

So I’m pretty hyped to play it (which probably won’t be until later on this year)

Are you referring to the remake of 2 or the original? Because re2 remake basically took the original and made it more like re4 (camera perspective and overall gameplay)

Nobody really knows since the remake of RE 4 drops later next month. RE 2 has a great plot, but RE 4 is an epic.

I hope they remake the original RE. That would be really great.
However I heard that Capcom is currently developing RE 9. Maybe they'll get to it in the future.

Resident evil 2 was like that for me. Had to beat the game in under 2 hours with just the knife or some chit to play tofu and hunk. Can't believe we'd do that chit casually back in the day.

There are no quality issues with the RE3 remake, it's just really short. There are quite a few extra features to make multiple play-throughs fun.

It had waaaaaay more problems than just being short. Quality was definitely not up to recent RE snuff.

2 and 3 were absolutely unaccessible for newcomers that didn't grow up with them

while you could argue 4 was already a more modern game certain aspects really could use an overhaul (which they hopefully managed with this version)

so it's not like it's an easy cashgrab, the remakes deserve their place

Yea & it seems like RE 4 was most people in my age group's introduction to the franchise.

Never played this when it originally released. Picked it up not expecting much. This game is amazing.

Gameplay is addicting. I like how you can make choices about your loadout and go hunting for all the collectibles. Was the original game this friggin fun? If so I really missed out back in the day.

I've almost beaten the game in one sitting, I'm already on the later chapters. Game looks friggin gorgeous too. Running it at 4k ultra at 120 fps. PC not even breaking a sweat. This is how you do remakes.
