Weight loss plateaus - real or slacking?
-Diet/cut was going well... lost 6 lbs very methodically for 6 weeks
-Stopping exercising for 2 weeks to rest SI joint pain in my back (no golf + ibuprofin pretty much fixed it)
-Have since lost 0 lbs in 2 weeks.
-Exercise is a pretty inefficient way to burn calories all in all... I expected to keep losing even without lifting or cardio as long as the diet remained tight (it has).
-Don't know if I hit a plateau, or if plateaus are fake and I just need to get my azz back in the gym.
-Have never done this before and have no weight loss experience

Need to lower your cals, as your weight goes down your maintenance cals will drop too.
“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn
"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

I started cutting about 3 weeks ago. Lost 10 pounds within the first 1.5 weeks. Now my weight has stalled, even after lowering calories a bit and doing cardio. However I take progress pictures weekly and notice more definition. I'm waiting for a flush where I wake up 2-3 pounds lighter in a single night. Another way I can tell I'm on the right track is my weight before bed. The less it fluctuates is a sign that I'm leaning out. (Ded fkn Srs)

FWIW OP I mostly ignored calories out from exercise because it is such a BS thing to try and accurately calculate. Watch calories in from food. If you stall too long then check your calories in measurement, meaning weighing and tracking what you eat...everything all the time. It's a PITA, but it does work and then you will have a better idea if you are really in a plateau/if you need to change your intake or move more to get the results that you want.

Some napkin math for your stemcel ass, 3500 cals per pound of fat at 1lb loss a means 500 cal deficit a day. Would think you weren't burning an extra 500 cals a day, but getting an estimate of how much you were is a good idea - I personally also like the philosophy of using exercise as *bonus*, but you are still in the process of figuring out how much you need to eat/not eat to lose weight though. I personally have no clue how much you were exercising.
3sting the comments on flushes/nonlinearity. I definitely sometimes stall and sometimes gain definition without weight loss (without lifting either) .

Cheat day is the best to break through a plateau.
Your body simply gets used to doing the same thing and adapts so you need to throw it a curve.
You dont have to believe me but I was a weight loss consultant for over 7 years and this worked with 99% of my clients.
Just eat the stuff you have been craving for the day, dont skimp or try to skip a meal to compensate, just eat the pizza or burgers or whatever, just have fun with it and get back into the diet tomorrow. Next week you should see the scale moving again.
if you step in the scale tomorrow you will see it go up because of water but that will wash away in a couple days.

Real.... eventually your body will get to a point where it will NOT burn any more fat unless you go full Auschwitz.... At that point, you're burning fat and muscle and shedding mass amounts of hair.

I never count my exercise cals, I just use them as a bonus. I'd stick to what you're doing for another week and see what happens. Make sure you're drinking a lot of water. Def exercise. If you stay the same in another week then cut cals a little. Also as Katya said, make sure you're counting your cals correctly. You should be weighing/measuring your food.

Semi-real, but assuming you are weighing the same time 3 weeks max.
Most people deviate 3-5lbs throughout the day. Most people also run 1-1.5lb deficit per week.
Between the daily fluctuation and water retention it is normal. If it goes on for longer chances are you are doing something wrong.

Weigh yourself twice per week, at the same time each day, under the same conditions (easiest is just right when you wake up, or immediately after your morning dump if you are a pre-breakfast dumper).
Adjust your calories based on 3-week (6 individual weigh-ins) averages.
If you are not contest-prepping, there is absolutely no reason to worry about a "plateau" after 6 fukking pounds of weight loss during a short (two-week) period of "not losing weight" (unless you are simply not being honest with yourself and us and have been slacking on diet). Unless you began your cutbelow12% bf (actual 12%, not some fake impedance or caliper test) -or- at a low bodyweight (along the lines of female bodystats), the swings from day to day and week to week related to glycogen, sodium/water, and literally just dump size will require more data points to determine whether or not you are or are not losing weight. And again, if you are not contest-prepping you are (with 99+% certainty) not paying close enough attention to the minutiae of body-composition alteration to worry about a short-term deviation in your rate of weight change.
Cliffs:
Get back to exercising as soon as you feasibly can within the context of having an injury, but unless your diet is wonky (lying to us/yourself) or your total exercise each and every day was some crazy high amount accounting for an unreasonable amount of calorie expenditure (and likely a massive toll on your body/health vs being something good for you) you are not yet at a point of worrying about a "plateau".

I had to limit water intake for 2 days to break plateaus.

Weight loss looks like this

You will see the scale go up and down. What matters is overall progress, and inches on your waistline. Sometimes you'll look soft and worse, and a few days later have a whoosh and drop some more weight.
And you are slacking. You haven't exercised in 2 weeks. Go to the gym today.

Plateaus are real, Ive been in the middle of one for about a month now. I dont want to lower my cals anymore, so I'm just riding it out. I think that the body set point theory has merit, I seem to go thru this every few months. I lose 20 lbs like nothing, then flatline for a bit, then its right back to losing. Trick is to just train thru it and be patient.
Edit: You're worried about a plateau after losing 6 pounds over two weeks? Thats pretty much water weight. I didnt hit my first plateau until I dropped like 15ish percent of my body weight when I started (40lbs).

The human body is smart and will adjust to your weight loss lifestyle. At that point, you need to switch things up. To trick your body again. Otherwise your brain will tell your body to adjust to your new calories lifestyle and youll stop losing weight.
