Venus and Jupiter. They were at conjunction on the 1st. That is when two celestial objects come within 5 degrees of each other.

This happens once a year.

It wold have been cool to see through a telescope. Due to the fact Venus is in Earth's orbit, when you look at it through a telescope you can see it go through phases like the Moon. You cannot detect this with the naked eye. And of course you can see the weather on Jupiter. That would have been a cool picture. I haven't set up a telescope in over year probably.

Man I need to get back into that.
