The 996 is a bargain because of the headlights, and while undesirable today, those headlights one day will actually create a cult following for the 996 (similar to YJ wranglers or countless other examples).Isnt it a great porsche aside from ppl hating on the headlights?

I think the 996 generation is totally underrated and unfairly hated by a bunch of boomer Porsche fans who hated change. To lots of millennials such as myself, there is just something very appealing about that generation of 911. I think it's got a lot to do with how that was the hot new Porsche when we were growing up. That and I honestly just always loved how it looked different from all the other 911 generations, it stands out in a good way. They were also just really clean looking cars, before Porsche went overboard on all the flaring and vents.

A relative had a 996 turbo. Nice car I thought even with the funky headlights. His wife made him trade the car in as she felt it was to dangerous. So he bought a motorcycle.

The turbos look better than the base models. They make some kits for the headlights also.
Some of the kits are terrible but some aren't so bad:https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...ew-design.html
Always been tempted to get one for a fun weekend car.
