Fuk legs are finally, slowly growing

Spoiler!

Been focusing hard this year on trying to put size on the lower body, since it has lagged hard compared to my chest and arms. Thought I was spinning my wheels but actually I have put on some half decent size. 4 months between the two pics.

How did you get your adductors to grow so much? I can feel and see quads getting bigger, but I feel like my adductors are small, and that detracts from that fuller view from the front. Could be that I’m a bish who hasn’t focused on legs enough though, or my height that makes it difficult to fill them in.

Also, how are the hamstrings? I’m assuming your glutes exploded if you’re doing lots of hip hinge movements as well?

Generally speaking I've started to train much more slowly, taking a full second to contract, pausing at contraction, and taking a full two seconds to go back extended. I've also adjusted all my weights so that I am doing 8-12 reps per set (I use to do 15-30 for adductors) and making absolutely sure that I am within 0-2 reps of failure before stopping my set. **** is painful especially for legs.

Everything started growing when I took this approach. I just do the hip adductor machine that sloots always use. hamstrings have grown nicely as well, been doing DB RDL's and single leg leg curls on a machine, super slow.

I have trouble controlling my glutes well so they are still lacking but I do donkey kicks and hip thrusts. They're better than they used to be but probably the worst part of my legs now.

I lift at home so I don’t have the sloot machine, or the hamstring curl machine.

I did buy a trap bar in august from rogue, and I’ve learned how to do controlled RDLs on that for hamstrings. Also, my squat is weak, and I think I wasn’t using correct form so I dropped weight and have been focusing on deep squats with a focus on keeping toes and knees out. I’m trying to gain strength there with lower reps before moving to the 8-12 range. It’s probably a time game.

My glutes have grown a lot though. Heavy hip hinge movements, like deads, and glute ham raises since we have a rogue ghd machine. Myron gains, im gonna step it up.

Great work my man. I have always struggled with legs myself. Any squatting in your routine?
That seems like awesome progress for "only" 4 months. Have you had to back off of anything else?

Pic not working but I'll trust you and you anyway and say good work op.

Biggest my legs ever got was when I was doing 5x10 squats after 5/3/1 sets. Doing a lot of isolation exercises slow and controlled like you are is definitely effective but there's something to be said for moving a lot of weight for high reps on squats. Might want to try that eventually but keep doing what you're doing as long as it's working.

Edit: sounds like you are already doing that, gjdm raped

I have two herniated discs that are quite old so I stopped squatting altogether for a while. been incorporating it slowly again the last year. I squat about once a week, usually light although I did manage 385x2 yesterday.

Just like with the others, I've focused on 8-12 reps approaching failure for squats, which has made me steer away from them lol it's ****ing grueling to squat 275-315 to near failure 3-4 times to start a workout.
