Why is the world so obsessed with sex?

Really how did it get like this? You see other animals just f*cking like it's a normal part of life like breathing air. For many of them mating season hits they do their thing and when it's done go back to their lives no big deal.

Why did humans go and complicate such a basic and simple thing?
