yea, the more I think about it the more I believe this to be true. I was never in a real fight my whole life and now that I grow older ( im 28 now ) i start to think more and more about this and that I should start at least learning how to punch and defend myself.

I see men that can't even defend the women they love when they are in need of protection. Makes me cringe.

Do it bro, find a fighting style you like and commit to it.

FWIW OP, I trained Muay Thai and a little bit of BJJ years ago and did really well in training.

But I've never, ever had a fair street fight. Always outnumbered and jumped at random times--one time they even had a knife-- so training is fairly useless in those situations. The only time I had control over the parameters of a fight is when I deliberately started one in a club to test out my skills. Which was immensely fckin stupid- don't do that.

But definitely get into training because it's a great hobby. But don't get into situations which are avoidable and don't stay and fight if running away is an option. No matter skilled a fighter you are always leave the confrontation if you can.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Generally speaking, boxing’s gonna be the best for self-defense. If you wanna take it further after that, try learning some basic wrestling takedowns & maybe some MT.

Save time, spend $500 carry a .380
Who the fk gets past 30 and wants to fist fight? Literally nothing good is going to come from it, even if you win

Some guy jaws off and you k.o him and he hits his head? Enjoy Jamal's BBC in the clink.

If you enjoy the practice and sport, then it's different. Needing to learn fist fighting is probably a bit overrated. Just be like Inspector gadget with EDC's
