Can we get rid of reps?

Most people don't care about them anymore, but quite a few rep whales were created over time and it's cringy af seeing people not speak their true mind or agreeing with them out of fear.

We would have much interesting discussions if there were no reps involved. All 50 of us left here.

I'd just say keep reps and get rid of negs, or put more limitations on negs. For example, are there high reppers who abuse their negs to bully anyone they disagree with into not posting? Start deducting their reps or give them bans.

Is someone negging a poster just because they have a different opinion? Similar deal.

The rep system is outdated, a relic of 2005-2009. Most forums that used to have a rep system have long since gotten rid of them. Most forums nowadays have a public "like/dislike" system instead of reps

I mean did reps even matter anymore after the change? Reps were doubled, negs were halved. You could get negged 20 times and still be green
