Do black people (guys especially) consider their dark skin to be ugly?

Is lighter skin considered a status symbol in those communities? I swear, every black guy I know goes crazy for anything with light skin. It's like nothing else matters, as long as the woman has lighter skin than him, he looks past her age and her weight and how unattractive or trashy she is. Even when a black guy dates a black woman, she almost always has lighter skin than him.

Years ago, I even heard about "paper bag parties" where the black guys would only let women in who had skin lighter than a brown paper bag. LOL

Interested to hear from black brahs specifically. Do you consider darker skin to be low status?

I've noticed that with blacks, they admire white traits and find their own traits undesirable.

Same with lesbians. Why be lesbian and then be attracted to women who look and act manly? Why can't lipstick lesbians be more common except porn?

I've heard that with Indians, but I guess it's mainly in India because Indian couples I see in Canada are almost always the same skin tone. I've knows tons of Indian guys and none of them have ever shown interest in a girl just because she has light skin. Same wth Asian guys - almost all are with women the same skin tone as them. And I've only known 1 Asian guy (Chinese) who saw white women as a status symbol. He was really fat and weird though. It seems black guys go absolutely crazy for light-skin women, regardless of all of her other flaws.

Also not true with white people. Some white guys are into redheads who are typically pale, but it's not a widespread preference. If anything, white guys generally prefer a girl who is the same skin tone as him or who is slightly tanned/exotic-looking (for whites) such as hispanic, etc. A lot of white guys love asians like Filipinas who are usually quite a bit darker than whites.

Personal preference plays a part, but there's definitely something going on wth status and some degree of self-hatred or viewing themselves as lower or less than.

I'm half black, and my upper body doesn't tan, so I'm pale as fuk, and the sun turns my skin red. I wish I had darker skin, I wish I could tan.

I guess being darker than sin wouldn't be great, but but being albino wouldn't be any better.

In Jamaica it's really bad, that it's very common for them to bleach/burn their skin to make it lighter. When I went there I seen so many people wearing long socks and shirts because their bleached skin will burn in the sun. (Ded fkn Srs)

Its a shame because black skinz look nice. Dark Indian and African skinz look nice.

All cultures( Asian, Indian, AFAM) have this class and wealth thing with lighter skin minorities.
They devalue the dark and prop up the light/white.
The problem is that, it is not like people can pick their color, ok maybe Sammy Sosa can.

I've definitely come across discussions on the internet where black women will complain about how other black women treat darker-skinned women. Not to mention the accusation of lightening skin seems to be thought of as a grave insult.

Could a 'brighter' complexion be objectively more aesthetically pleasing? No idea. Too many factors to say yes or no.

The retardation of all this is that most people with dark skin run from the sun to stay light, while white people flock to the sun to get dark. One of the conundrums of the world. My wife hides from the sun when in reality I wish she would get darker.

The only black or brown boyos that get insecure about their own skin tone are fukin losers (which to be honest is most of them LOL). That's the ultimate sign of a double digit IQ ethnic pleb.
