Legalizing marijuana was rejected by all 77 of Oklahoma's counties

On Tuesday, voters overwhelmingly knocked down a proposal to legalize recreational marijuana by a margin of 61.7% to 38.3%, with the measure failing in each of Oklahoma’s 77 counties.

Yeah I mean I live in CA and don't smoke MJ and my main observation is this. When MJ became legal here a few years ago you would walk around almost anywhere and smell it. It was everywhere.

Now? I hardly ever smell it. Never really hear about it. CBD either. In fact my wife and I were walking out of the gym last week and we smelled it and I said that is the first time I have smelled MJ in a very long time. So my point is if anything I think the allure of smoking MJ kind of went away when it became legal. The excitement went bye bye. Plus I am sure that more new people tried it right away (I know this because CBD and smoke shops opened up everywhere) but once people tried it and realized it really wasn't that big of a deal? They stopped using it.

NY is in that phase right now, you can smell it everywhere. But just lol at Oklahomans voting this down. Their state is incredibly poor and cash strapped. God forbid you stop arresting and jailing pot smokers and save the taxpayers some money. And it's not like other states around them aren't going to legalize it anyway, getting all the tax revenue and Oklahoma gets flooded with it anyway. Just lol

And hey, congrats on your win at the casinos, 4k wins on slots is not easy to do lol.

Yeah give it a couple of years and all of the hype you hear about MJ and CBD will die down to nothing in NY. So many of the the CBD and MJ shops here have closed down the past 2-3 years because the boom from making it all legal completely died off.

And thanks. I have to play the slots because that is where you get the most points for MGM comps. I hit a couple hand pays that helped.....which is unusual because for about the last year and a half all of the hand pays went bye bye on the slots. Right after all the casinos reopened after covid hand pays were everywhere and people were lining up to play the slots. They really loosened them up.

But it turns out it was just to get people back in the casinos because now you hardly ever see them. There is this slot called Dragon Link that people would wait 30 minutes to play. Casinos would have separate sections cordoned off just for Dragon Link games because they paid so well. Now hardly anyone plays them because the casino's tightened them up.

What you just described with the casinos and covid reopening is EXACTLY what happened in our local casino. Slots have been awful the last year or so, after being on fire for over a year. At least Nevada forces them to advertise their payout percentage. My local is an Indian casino.. they literally can do anything they want, including dialing the payout rate to whatever they want when they need cash..

And yeah, Dragon Link, Lightning Link, and Dollar Storm games are all very popular where I go. Sometimes I like to go early in the morning when the place is empty just so I can get on anything I want.

Yeah I don't get it. Slots are huge money makers for casinos but if no one is playing them then they aren't making money. The slots at Aria and Bellagio for example were getting about half the play they were even year ago. I did not see one other person get a hand pay while I was there. In fact I really haven't seen anyone get one in many months. Used to be the casino guys coudn't keep up with the hand pays.


The table games were busier though.

I used to watch BC youtube videos a little when I first started going to the casino (never went before the pandemic because they allowed smoking which is a deal breaker for me - it's still not allowed and they're not bringing it back thank God). I stopped when he started ripping massive bets which is just unrealistic for most players. I do like vegaslowroller though, makes me laugh. He likes Aria as well as Red Rock and some others.

I was talking to a guy playing poker next to me who is a vegas local....a dealer/teacher. He said they are building a new Red Rocks type casino that is supposed to be amazing. Which is good because I like that style.

Now that the kids are getting older the wife and I should go back. Haven't been since our honeymoon back when the strip didn't have anything through the middle of it. There was Treasure Island and Caesars.. then literally nothing but bare lots and old, old casinos.. then the MGM and Luxor etc. Now it's completely different from what I've seen - NY NY etc with rollercoasters and all that lol.

It is completely different now. City Center where Aria/Vdara/Cosmo are located I like a lot. Resorts World just opened (we saw Luke Bryan there last month he was great). Plus I think 3 or 4 new ones are being built as well.

I want to see the Music Venue LED Dome they are building. Supposed to be one of a kind.

Idc honestly. I know it's selfish but I love seeing weedcels melt down over this type of stuff and I approve of the will of Oklahomans
