Atomic Hearts could have been the Bioshock successor we all wanted, but it chit the bed.
But yeah, the first Bioshock was an absolute masterpiece, so much atmosphere, lore, and a sense of place. One of the goats in the PS3 era. There's actually a system shock remake coming on steam this month, so well worth checking out and I definitely plan to get it since I've never played it before.
But other games have done what Bioshock did, maybe not to the same extent, but in terms of being an immersive sim and prioritizing player choice, dripping with atmosphere .... The Dishonored and Prey series from Arkane. Legit, if anyone who enjoyed Bioshock but didnt play/rate the Dishonored / Prey series ought to fuk off, because you're missing out on such an amazing bunch of games.
That said, 2007 was such a magical year for games holy fuk ..... COD Modern Warfare, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, Bioshock .... Cottdamn.

The first one was amazing, the sequels not so much. The second game pretty much had a completely different feel, and I think Infinite was a lot more impressive when it was new, but by now it just doesn't feel so special. I think Atomic Heart is probably the best thing that is sorta like Bioshock since Bioshock, fantastic game, better than Infinite.

Maybe since you have an xbox you should probably download Prey/Dishonored and play them on gamepass, I expect you to enjoy them if you enjoyed Bioshock 1 despite being such a toxic debby downer.
Lold at you trying to hype up Atomic Hearts though. Being a so called "contrarian" as you've mentioned in your previous posts, I'm not surprised you enjoy the game because it's being criticized both commercially and by reviewers because of how lame it is and rightfully so, because the game isnt good at all.

Made prior to clown world
Not a single character was forced in to appease the diversity globohomo quota. The only gay character was only implied as gay and he was a little evil chit
There was a time when stories focused on stories and not all the extra bullchit

It’s one of the best.
From the moment I played the first one it became one of my favorites. 2 wasn’t as bad as people say but it was hard to be equal to the first. Infinite was a big miss imo. It just didn’t feel like Bioshock and rapture is one of the goat settings in all of gaming.

This body holding me, be my reminder here that I am not alone.

As much hate as it got, I really liked how Bioshock Infinite explained it all in the ending bringing you back to the first game.

But yeah, the first Bioshock was an absolute masterpiece, so much atmosphere, lore, and a sense of place. One of the goats in the PS3 era. There's actually a system shock remake coming on steam this month, so well worth checking out and I definitely plan to get it since I've never played it before.

Didnt love dishonored. Can definitely see its merits but I wasnt too into that setting or story. Felt a bit like the world of Infinite but without all the cool lore. Also had weird pacing issues.
Havent played Prey yet. I know Chris Avellone wrote side quests and character dialogues for that game which is makes it an automatic get.

Remember when it came out and everybody was obsessed with it, spamming "would you kindly" everywhere. Doing a wrench-only playthrough was great too. Love just whacking the chit out of everything and being a plasmid god.
