Are you looking forward to The Passion of the Christ: Ressurrection (2024)?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5795232/
I can't wait. I hope Satan is portrayed by an Androgynous Lesbian again.

I first saw the original on a trip with my classmates from the Catholic High School I went to.
I don't trust sequels, but I have faith in Mel Gibson's ability to deliver.
Mel Gibson is finally pressing ahead with his follow up to The Passion Of The Christ going by the name Resurrection.

o date one of the most profitable independent films of all time, The Passion Of The Christ was made in 2004, with writer/director Mel Gibson putting in chunks of the funding outside of the studio system. Over $600m in box office returns later, and Gibson never needed to work again.
He has been working, as well as going through many other things that have been widely reported around the internet. He’s a man with his demons, and he’s a man who hasn’t always seemed to treat others particularly well, allegedly. A quick Google will fill in the blanks there.
And Gibson has for some time been mulling a follow-up to The Passion Of The Christ, with Jim Caviezel set to reprise the role of Jesus Christ. Gibson hired Randall Wallace, the screenwriter of Braveheart, to put together a script. And now it seems the film is pretty much ready to start shooting.
The new film will go by the name of Resurrection, and it’ll cover the days between Christ’s crucifixion, and then his resurrection too. As you’d expect from the title.
Filming is set to get underway in the spring, with Gibson directing. A 2024 release date is mooted. Don’t be surprised if it lands around Easter…

it's better to suck dink than to be killed
"My outer appearance was poor, but in this way my inner world became richer than anyone else's. Was it not natural that a young boy who suffered from an indelible drawback like mine should have come to think that he was a secretly chosen being? I felt as though somewhere in this world a mission awaited me of which I myself still knew nothing." --Yukio Mishima

Doubt it'll even come close to making the money of the original. The war on Christianity has been pushed by the media a long time since the original came out.

after the resurrection is only like one or two chapters, so it's probably going to be a lot of historical fiction. i wish he would have wanted to go on and include acts. regardless i have never enjoyed anyone playing jesus except the singer in jesus christ superstar (album version)

I know Mel Gibson can do way better than that. Apolalyptco was amazing
