Couldn't the strapped dude catch some heat for this? Even though he's defending himself I'm not sure the law permits one to shoot someone merely squaring up on you.

Back when this happened, it was reported that the dude with the pistol was arrested, but exonerated. Apparently the other guy had a knife.

if someone's not backing down after having a gun pointed at them its no telling what lengths he would have gone to harm the man. Also, the shirt remover had a knife so that definitely could have come into play if the gun owner instead tried defending himself with his fists.

In this circumstance glad the guy got shot and he was a fuking idiot. Just saying if I get into it with a guy at the gym or something I can't say lets go out in the parking lot without it most likely ending with me getting shot. Why should I fight it out with an ex-neighbor drug addict, who has been in and out of prison, who has been harassing and stalking me and breaking my property? What does fighting him prove, again?

He's dead. Not sure I would prefer a long drawn out painful death where I was captured for all time on the internet crying like a baby. If he'd been brained in the head, I bet less people would be sympathetic to the shooter and he'd died quicker and without embarrassing himself.

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather prefer not getting shot in the first place, which is why I am not a drug addict and do not pick fights with people and do not rush at armed men with a gun pointed at me while I go for a knife.

Thank you so very much btw. I'm not on the here 24/7, and the search function doesn't always work.  Instead of them whining about a repost, they could have simply posted the link to the previous thread, and I would have deleted this one, and bumped the older one.

The shooter was pretty much ostracized by his family and friends. Though, perfect strangers online may view him as in the right, and maybe even alpha and badass, it adversely affected his personal life.

He did everything correctly as a gun owner and self defense.

There are many cases where a gun is wrongly used. But this is not one of them. Kyle Rittenhouse is a good example of a bad use of a weapon.

It's good to have saved documentation of how people who are off their rocker will curb stomp you and how that guy was clearly showing sings of severe mental illness by chasing after a man pointing a gn at him. Borderline suicidal behavior. Because of his obvious mental illness he would be in fear of great bodily harm because the guy is not in a rational state of mind.

There are a lot of people who would love a world where they could just go beating on people to get their way because that's what kind of home they were brought up in where might = right.
