Anyone else thinking about changing their direct deposit?

With all the bank bs going on now, I don't feel okay having my paycheck go to my checking anymore. I'm thinking about just taking a check, or setting up direct pay to my PayPal.

I don't want thousands in the bank when this **** all fukks up.

What are yall doing?

I get a paper check and just cash it at a check cashing place. I’d rather pay the cashing fee than trust the bank with my funds.

Unless you're sitting on more than what your bank/credit union is insured for then you may want to keep the cash on hand, but since you're asking I'm guessing you're ok to direct deposit it.

Paypal uses Synchrony Bank, no good there. You'll have to keep enough money in your bank account to cover the hold while your check clears when you cash it. And if it's more than a few grand, the tellers are going to need to order it a few days ahead of time. Just fyi.

Wouldnt it be smart to just withdraw all your money every week? Paypal could just take your money if you are unvaccinated one day.

All they do is take your money and invest it. You are paying them to do something you can do, and they get the significant returns on it.

The fees they charge is nothing compared to the compound interest they make by investing everyone elses money. That is the best way to make money by the way. Convince people to give you theirs, or control of it.
