How did James Cameron sandwich 'strange days'

Between Terminator 2 and Titanic?

What an awful movie. It's got a budget Bradley Cooper look alike selling mind recording devices that look like a spaghetti strainer on your head. It's actually got a decent cast, can't believe it's so bad.

If you say something is "awful" you have to explain why.

I thought it was a unique idea for a science fiction film.

There's been a couple of movies where brain interface technology is the subject because of its ability to confuse what's real would be horrible.

Another VERY good movie about that is Existenz.

Crummy acting, cheesy special effects.

It's kind of like an old school detective movie, if you've seen the new Marlowe with Liam Neeson, the plot is very similar to that. But Marlowe is really polished and well made throwback to old hollywood.

This is a futuristic (for the 90s) dystopian hollywood but instead of blade runner special effects its more comparable to Idiocracy. Everything looks low budget and silly. It's an A list movie that comes off like a B grade titty flick you would see on Cinemax late night. The central theme is a guy selling Virtual Reality tapes, but someone is using the tech to make a snuff film.

I'm excited about Marlow.

I read the book, The Big Sleep, which is about 1930s porn and blackmail of a rich girl.

Is that what it's about?

Strange Days is about selling "snuff porn" and a serial killer who is doing it but on a totally new science fiction level.

Strange Days was a good film, with good acting, and a novel plot.

It's a Film Noir about a sleazy "drug dealer" type but he deals in technological media, not drugs. Then, it's about a serial killer who makes snuff films, you live out in your brain because of the technology that exists. So, the sleazy drug dealer type guy starts to investigate these crimes because they are so horrible to him.

Themes of the movie has to do with people figuratively "masturbating" to life experiences of others through the media. Back when the movie came out shows like America's Funniest Home Videos were popular. People liked watching videos of kids falling down the stairs and things like that. So, the movie was a comment about how people would love to "live" falling down the stairs and would love to live pushing someone down the stairs.

You aren't going to find too many movies like that.

Also, the director's other films look good but Strange Days actually had a social commentary that's pretty high quality.
