Why can you buy a 200 pound dog, but can't buy a 100 pound cat?

Would love to have a pet leopard or black panther.

Big cats are lb for lb stronger than dogs of a similar size. Also, you need a huge amount of land to keep a pet leopard happy which most people don't have.
