[140K reps] Apartment Theatre Setup
wassup fellas
just moved into a new place and looking to upgrade my apartment theatre setup
currently have a 65" TCL 4series TV and just a cheap 2.1 surround setup
it's impressive for being sub $500, but I feel like I could I could up my game a bit.
current TV:
https://a.co/d/0ilrPNo
current speakers:
https://a.co/d/9reIr2L
thinking I want to upgrade to a 75" or 85". looking for suggestions on TVs, media centers (thing that goes under the TV), and speaker setup
budget of $5,000 USD
so far I am thinking this TV (75" TCL 5 series):
https://a.co/d/8i3xrBY
this media station: (68w x 15.7d x 13t)
https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pd...a=MXxOfDB8WXww
this receiver (Marantz NR1510):
https://a.co/d/6Nxawyk
these 5 speakers (Jamo Studio Series S 803):
https://a.co/d/4ZsMfXx
and this subwoofer (Jamo S810):
https://a.co/d/eEustuD
any thoughts, critiques, other suggestions?
it is an apartment and I have an 85 year old dude living below me. but the apartment is well insulated and as long as I keep the sub down, I don't expect many issues
I pretty much only use Roku apps on the TV. Netflix, HBO, etc. no blu-ray

Receiver + speaker setup would be too cluttered in my apartment.
I went with a Sonos Beam2, two One SL surrounds on stands, and the new Sub Mini. TV is 55" LG C1, which I sit 5 feet away from. 75"-85" seems so overkill for an apartment.
Roku is garbage. I would get a Fire TV stick 4K max or Firecube. Then load Kodi and Smart Tube Next onto it.

my computer monitor is a 55" and not nearly big enough lol
the apartment is 1400sq ft so it's bigger than a lot of houses my friends have gotten. currently sitting about 12' away from the 65" tv

Also, if you watch cable or sports or play games with logos/static elements then OLED probably ain't for you because of burn in or at the very least, retention.
Point is, just spend some money and buy a fairly good TV and don't worry about it. The TV op is looking at is great.

The TV you picked doesnt do 120hz which you might want if you game. I still have a 60hz TV myself, depends how much you want to spend. Seems like the TV you just got is a 2022 model so still pretty new, maybe wait until November/December timeframe for a TV and see if any 2023 models are on clearance getting ready for 2024...
Another thing you could do in an apartment is use larger front speakers in lieu of a subwoofer.. Those Jammos are good quality for their price... In order to go without a subwoofer though and use a 5.0 speaker system with front speakers that have like 5-6" woofers, its going to be in the $600-$700 range for the speakers.

Top of the line QLEDs that are the same price of OLED are good for rooms with plenty of natural sunlight because of the higher Brightness, but if you had to get only one, I would go for OLED.
Also newer ones are getting their brightness up and even samsung got their QD-OLED going already. That TLC still poverty compared to the OLEDs and not as bright as the top of the line samsung QLED to beat out the OLEDs

Lol, I have both TVs right here and think the QLED is the better all rounder and can work anywhere and look punchy and vibrant. The blacks are very close to OLED too. And you get no downsides to the tech. The TV will be good in any room, and will last a longer time and can be used by anyone without having to baby it. My entertainment room has the QLED for everyone to enjoy and the OLED is in my bedroom that's almost always dark.

I am also thinking going heavier into front speakers (and having surround speakers) in lieu of the sub will be plenty

rent a house and get a real system with minimum 2 subwoofers, 2 front towers, large center channel speaker as well. Or if you must be in apartment get a high end 70+ inch Samsung or LG. with a soundbar. Either the high end samsung soundbar/sub or the Sennheiser Ambeo w/sub soundbar.

There are cheap and expensive LED tech that have wild differences in quality. My high end Samsung TV looks far better than your monitor. There are many videos on YouTube comparing both TVs, that's why they are priced the same and compete against each other. Both have advantages and drawbacks.
Again, I have both TVs right here, I have no incentive to choose either over the other. OLEDcels are cultists I swear.

I would choose the one on the right for a well lit room anyday

Big difference is that all OLED as pretty much equal in display, vs the QLED theres a huge difference. Thats as $1800 monitor btw, quite disappointing. The biggest problem are those back light bleeds
Even Samsung abandoned that poverty tech and moved to QD-OLED
Yo yo yo I beez keepin it real since 02 fo real nowuimsayin

Actually now that I think of it, I did buy the Odyssey g9 49 inch super ultrawide monitor and thats supposed to be QLED, thing was trash, it still get that back light bleed,

Im looking at getting an oled monitor pretty soon, also considering the 42 or 48 oled as a monitor.

the 49" G9 was my favorite monitor I've ever owned:

have the 55" Odyssey Ark now:

I will never do 16:9 again for any monitors. Ultrawide is best. and AFAIK, they don't make OLED ultrawides yet. or atleast last time I was in the market

Im torn between a regular ultrawide oled or going for the G9 OLED. Thing is going to be juicy at 240hz, but samsung has a back track record of issues at launch.

the Neo didn't look much better on paper to me other than weight savings
with the 55" Ark I'll probably be set for another 5 years. the multi-tasking capability is unparalleled, plus the ability to still play as if I'm using a 49" 32:9 on the bottom half of the screen
