Only drink 6-8 times a year crew . Did my all time personal best last year with 39 drinks . Started at 5 pm and later went to the bar for whiskey and shooters , then came home at closing time and continued to finish my 24 pack off .
Drank till 9:30 the next morning , then walked to my dentist office for my cleaning .
Apologized to the girl cleaning my teeth,as I may smell like booze . I pretty much drank myself sober if that’s possible,as I wasn’t even tipsy . Bought another dozen as I walked home , and had 2 more beer when I arrived, but passed out at 1:30 pm lol

375ml of vodka daily was my usual amount for a few years. I've since cut down since Jan and mostly drink on weekends now. Like maybe a bottle of vodka or a few beers. Some weekends I don't drink at all.

Its hard to give it up completely cause sobriety is a fkn drag long term

Never alone and usually not during the week but will typically get pretty shtfaced (10-12 drinks or so per night) once or twice a week depending on what's going on. Probably nowhere near being classed as an alchy although sometimes it can feel like a lot and I will take time off drinking here and there.

It was around at least 17 beers a day and that would be for at least 4 days in a row followed by a day or two off and then back at it. Did that for a number of years.

trick is to start drinking early in the day, I usually liked to start bo later than 11:30 am. Then drink until about 6 or so. This way I would get a full nights sleep and be fresh for the next session the following day.

Hard liquor though is where people run in to trouble. its terrible for you and way worse than beer. I am fully convinced large quantities of beer are good your you and people should drink way more than they do.

not amount of data can convince me otherwise.

i did however stop doing it about a year ago as i felt I was sort of a slave to it and had to do it all the time. didnt like that feeling so stepped away from it.

Before the withdrawals and detox became physically dangerous, I was good for a solid 18+ 99 proof drinks on a weeknight. Three day weekends were the worst, I would have colleagues schedule vacation around them so there was little to do even while in the office or working remotely from home.

On a 3 day weekend when I knew people would be checked out on Monday and were already planning for the weekend on Thursday. I would usually slam about a handle (40ish shots) with a couple shots starting Friday afternoon and going full blown at 6pm, follow that up with 25+ shots of 99 proof liquor Satuday and Sunday, call in sick Monday, come in like a champ Tuesday. Never drank at work, but the mental fixation definitely took up a lot of productivity.

Isn't the mental health aspect of being addicted to a substance horrible?

It can't be fun drinking to feel normal, and when going a long time without a drink, time slows down, trauma from the past creeps up, you get irritable and pissy...

I'm not nearly as bad as I thought. I'd have a couple of tall boys a night, just watching tv. A couple of times a week I'd have a couple of Four Lokos since I'm a ghetto drinker. On Sundays, I'd like to day drink at the bar. Around 96 oz. Now, I have a couple of tall boys every few months.

Stay safe boys. My buddy just turned as yellow as a sticky note few months back at 34 years old from his drinking. Has ascites, looking like he was carrying triplets, hands and ankles all swollen, skin itching like crazy. Last I heard he wasn’t as yellow but still swollen and in bad shape after 4 months. He drank about an 18 pack a day before switching to vodka redbull within the last year.

I warned him when I first met him but he told me he drank a whole bottle of SoCo a night for 2 straight years in his mid 20s and nothing happened so he figured if he didn’t get it then that he was golden. Wrong.

Haven’t drank in years, but I never had withdrawals.

I got super lucky with that.

two wineglasses of wine daily average. I figure this isn't what you consider being alcoholic. I give myself a break for a week once in a while. Trouble is, I love making wine. Cannot not drink it.

I can drink a case over a Friday and Saturday plus some bourbon. Don’t really drink during the week anymore. Quit for a good 4 months for a reset. Was a little moody and didn’t sleep good but that was it

Sober 3 years now but used to drink 3 tall cans a night during the week, then would get trashed on Fridays. Did that for a good while then realized that **** is poison.
