Miscers with live-in sig. others. (Financial)

My girlfriend moved into my house about 8 months ago and pays for 90% of the groceries + half the electric. Meanwhile, I'm paying everything else.

Now, she's not unreasonable and would probably pay more but I've not yet set up a system.

What contributions around the house do you typically split with your so and how did you arrive at that balance?

if its serious i'd start another bank account that you both contribute to and have access to. Use it for all the monthly bills such as electricy, water, internet, mortgage/rent, insurance, saving for a trip etc. Find out what your usual monthly grocery bill is and split that as well.

all personal stuff like clothing, eating out for lunch, gifts, etc should be bought from your own personal accounts.

if one makes a lot more then the other you can tweak the numbers. Dont fall into the trap of completely shared bank account - almost everytime the women drains it.
