Except it can't do math. If it could, humans would be obsolete.

GPT4 already improved on that front massively.

Again you brainlets don't understand AI will improve exponentially, not lineair.

It still can't do math. An AI that could do math would be a strong AI capable of basically doing anything humans can do.

it's just a matter of time before AI can do anything humans can and then infinity times better

that's why it's important to have a belief in the 'human spirit'

There are complexities involved with semantic parsing that a dumbass like you won't fully appreciate. Sure, it is getting better. It doesn't guarantee there will be strong AI one day using these methods.

True, the art it creates is already better than what any human artist makes.

Photorealism is also already achieved:

this is why i'm against ai art. Wtfs the point of being human if we give away our creativity to robots...

a common rebut is 'oh we'll just use them as tools to give us more inspiration'... Yeah, until that schtick gets old and we decide to get 'more creative' by merging with them in greater capacity, then you're already merged so why not just become a full on robot

it's basically all or nothing. atheism materialism or God/spirituality

Sorry to break it to you, but most of what you do is algorithmic. And your god isn't real.

AI couldn’t even generate a timeline for when it will overtake humans on that graph. Just some random arbitrary measure of “time” on the x-axis

Sounds like AI is coping

Processing power needed to do fast computations =/= high intelligence. The chart assumes that ants are really dumb in comparison to birds and chimps. Hang out near an army ant colony and see how quickly your opinion changes.

If we can automate and robotize enough, people won’t even need to punch a clock and money likely starts losing meaning (srs)

The first jobs that will be replaced are white collar jobs. It will still be decades before tradies are replaced.

oh it will get there. For every country that wants to take it slow and do test runs and case studies on the ramifications of AI and the state of social meaning, you'll have the Koreans and Chinese blasting-and-cruising with AI, and the only way to stop them is to compete with them by doing the same thing, and if that nation doesn't compete they'll be left in the dust on the world stage economically. Guaranteed its already happening at this moment.

There are plenty of smart humans with the ability to do jobs, but no human can compute as fast as AI. Thats where you or noone can compete. Thats why its going to be more efficient to automate jobs of accountants and data entry clerks than to sit a body in a chair to do the work. A human body that needs a salary and vacation time and 15 minute breaks, and sick days and can only work 8 hours in a day. Why would a company put up with that when they can spend a one-time fee of $100k or something for some high end AI unit to do the work of three men around the clock? The only human they'd need to hire is some gig contracted technician to come around once per month to do some re-calibrate testing to see if the work is accurate or some chit, and they're good to go for another month of uninterrupted work.
