Deep dental cleaning, is this a scam?

I had done a few teeth cleaning at the dentist office in the past and had never heard or have the dentist mention a deep dental cleaning.
Today I went to see another dentist and they recommended it. They say they actually numb your face and go deep below your gum line to get rid of plaque and whatnot.
They also say they give you anti biotics at the end . Wtf is this?

Oh yeah, the price is 1200 dollars if you have no insurance. I walked away fast because they said I have 0 cavities and no issue, I guess I must be doing somethign right then.
I brush 3 times a day and floss after every meal. I also do mouth rinse with hydrogen peroxide so there.

Any thoughts?

Deep cleanings are normally meant for patients with oral issues like gum disease and tooth decay. I did a deep cleaning once because I hadn't been in a while but I didn't need anything like numbing, etc...To be honest it was no different compared to a normal cleaning...but I don't have issues with my teeth so maybe that's why.

If you have good teeth I wouldn't bother srs.

I’ve always had 1 cavity, I went to this dentist recently and they said I had 6 cavities and needed 14000$ worth of work one of which was deep cleaning

I went to a different dentist who did exact same test and concluded I had 1 cavity and just need my wisdom teeth pulled and a normal cleaning

1500$

I’m not saying dentists are scams but wtf

If you have crap below your gumline, you probably have worse problems

My dentist is pretty good. I get 2 free cleanings a year and free xrays with their plan.

You guys have a lot of cavities...do you drink coke? If so, stop immediately srs. Coca Cola is especially chitty because the phosphoric acid really fuks ur teeth up.

How are you getting cavities like this?

Well that story is often too common and absolutely portrays dentist as scammers.
All I really cared about was the X ray.
