Digital games are a ripoff (SRS)
I bought a bunch of games from gamefly sale for cheap a year ago maybe spent $100 on them. Few months ago i traded in all of them for $90 to gamestop. Got MW2 for ps5 using the trade in and put the extra credit on a gift card... played MW2 for a month beat the single player two times AMAZING single player and multiplayer was fun for a while too.
Ended up getting deadspace remake when it came out for $50 on ******** marketplace and beat that game.
Yesterday i went into gamestop traded in both games got $44 for MW2 and $32 for deadspace and walked out with resident evil 4 remake and $22 gamestop gift card. I realize i could have probably gotten 10-15 more if i sold it on ******** marketplace or ebay but didnt wanna deal with meeting up and low ballers. Its soooo nice to go and pick up a game you want to play with games that would be collecting dust in your house. I see it as getting the game for free because there are so many games i have in my steam library that i paid $60 for and they been sitting my library for years and i have 0 intention of every playing them again.

Agreed. I always buy and sell my games when I'm done with them. Never been into the whole 'collecting' thing just to waste space in your house with shelves of games you'll never play again. And the PS store can have some amazing deals on it. Such as RE2 and RE3 remakes I paid like £12 for on a black friday deal which was way cheaper than anywhere selling the physical copies. But you can't beat physical copies for value and speed of installation

Getting rid of disk drives would be entirely stupid right now, but digital is the way of the future. Personally I like being able to own my games and I hardly sell my old stuff or trade in stuff just to get a discount... But I understand that the used games market is pretty big and a lot of people make use of it, so no hate from me.
What needs to happen is:
Sony to stop being greedy kunts and allow refunds to go through ala steam
Platform holders to allow digitally re-selling games to others or perhaps gifting them if you dont want it, but this would never happen .... but iirc this is what they kinda wanted to do with the xbone, but MS went about in a completely arrogant and retarded way.

Cost of convenience is worth it. Xbox store usually has a couple of different sales at any given time.
Quick Resume / Load times, not having to go to a store is worth the cost for me. I understand that quick resume works with discs, but it's not really quick if you have to get up and put a different game in.

What I do is buy physical the ones I want to keep in my collection then just buy cheap digital ones in sale for the rest.

Most things in life that are more convenient have extra cost. Shouldn't be shocking.
I happily got the diskless PS5 this gen because I am fully digital anyway. The convenience is worth the extra costs in software to me.

I always go physical unless I have no choice like indie games. As bad as I wanted to play, I waited to get my hands on the Physical Metroid Prime Remastered. I like actually having a tangible item I can collect, sell, or trade. Plus, you never have to worry about internet and needing to "verify" your permission to play your own chit.
I'm back, bitches!

imagine being so fukin lazy to not go to a fukin gamestop or target for a game. imagine being so lazy to not get up off the couch and change a disc.
imagine buying digital games and only having rights to it so long as you keep the same account forever lmfao.
meanwhile disc brahs can create new accounts no problem and still have access to their games. can resell too.
etc.
digital brahs are fukin npcs.

The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:

Digital on PC is the only way anymore.
However in no way would I trust Nintendo, Sony, or MS with anything digital.

Pc crew, steam games are there forever when I buy them. 239 games in my library at the moment. Love to see that, it's like if I had shelves full of games but ya know, digital. I haven't had a disc drive since I used to rip Blu ray discs from redbox in like 2015 or some chit
I like steam because my games work on any PC and will be there forever tied to my account. The only way I'll lose access is if devs shut a game down which can happen for small indie mp games.
I don't mind Microsoft since they work on pc / xbox but really gamepass exists so I'm not buying games thru them rather than subbing to gamepass. But at least ms and pc work together nicely.
Sony needs to get it together and make my games available across platform where available tied to my account. I believe they will get there eventually. I'm still only going to buy digital with Sony because lmao at thinking you're any better for buying from big box stores.
But I ain't getting up and putting discs in and out of my ps5 when I wanna play games like some teenage mongoloid sitting cross leg on the floor in front of the TV. That might even actually be worse than changing batteries on a controller.

Here in philippines, I buy discs cuz they offer pre-order stuff(esp on AAA release) like shirts, mugs(RE4 and GoW Ragnarok got cool mugs), etc. Plus we don't have our own PS store, so Im using the HK store. Prices are sometimes a bit higher then add credit card foreign exchange fee.
And yes, resell value esp lots of people here prefer used games(poverty gamers), very easy to sell them.
That said, digital got great sales, so I buy some when they have some games I love. And convenience of not changing discs is awesome.

Yeah digital is sadly the way to go.
Also no "rare" games anymore.

Digital is the perfect way for companies to squeeze even more money out of fans. I can't get over the fact that someone with a digital ps5 is basically forced to pay 30% or 40% more for a digital ''copy''.
