What kind of headphones do you guys use at the gym?

I bought myself a pair of noise cancelling JBL Reflect buds for my birthday today, and they sounded fine but the left ear keeps disconnecting. I reset them, tried a bunch of solutions online and they're still just ****ed so I'm going to return them.

What's a good set? Not sure if I'm going to stick with buds or do over-ear or whatever.

Recommend me something good for reps.

Airpods Pro when they went on sale for $180. Never falls off working out or running. Even tried it once during crossfit.

Noise cancelling works great too!

I have over the ear- Marshall. But sometimes it drops down(bench, etc) plus sweats gets to it obviously.

I have Ultimate Ears Reference Remastered Pro Customs, with a bluetooth module so I can use them wirelessly at the gym.

Great fit for box jumps, or any exercise I do srs.

Power beats pros. They have the little inner ear flap that helps keep them in the ear.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Bose sportbuds.

Great sound quality. They're not actually noise cancelling which I prefer when running outside. I dunno how important that feature is to you.

My big gripe is actually the mic. No matter how many permissions I turn off, the mic sometimes pics up ******t sound (in particular heavy breathing) and interprets it as a voice command. Will activate google voice asking if I want to turn it back on and disrupts my music app. Wearing a hood makes the problem worse.

Drive me nuts. I guess I'm not doing a good job selling them unless this is a problen with other mic'd bluetooth buds? Lol
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Some cheap ones from Amazon, in ear.. they work well enough and have held up for a couple years now, but the battery life definitely isn’t what it used to be.

I went old school and use an apple adapter to connect to the phone, no charging, no losing 1, just continuous music at great quality.

I still wear these because they haven't broke in years. Feel kind of gay though being the only person in there that still has a wire connecting them but then again maybe they're all BrainCancerMaxxing.

I used to buy the cheapest over ear buds I could find on ebay and cycle them every 6ish months or so when they broke. GF bought me the powerbeats for christmas 2 years ago, and they've been great. Can't speak for the audiophiles who love sound quality, but they work great for what I need (gym music).

JBL Tune 660NC. Run about $100 I think. Over ears. Noise canceling works great. Been having over 2 years now.

After using over-ear headphones I would not go back to ear buds.

Not sure how cans are being recommended for the gym to be honest.

With custom IEMs you get: (i) noise isolation; (ii) perfect fit; and (iii) you can use them for ages too. I would never box jump with cans on, but easily can with my custom IEMs. They are also far more portable in the gym bag, on a plane etc.

Different strokes, I know, but cans? For home listening for sure. I do like Audeze 5zs for that, tested a pair but didn't pull the plug. My IEMs are plugged into an RME ADI 2 DAC in the specific IEM port.

I just picked up some $40 Philips Bluetooth headphones. They work and they aren't absolute ****. I don't need premium sound quality when I'm at the gym tbh. I dunno, it works for me.

Update: My dog ate the ones above so I got the Jabra Elite 7 Actives and they're awesome. The ANC is awesome and they never fall out. Hopefully I don't grow a third eye or a penor on my head now.
