Free and clear?

I'd be putting it away to buy my way out of wage cuckery. Probably would just keep it in cash and T-bills, since I'm generating it so fast that I don't need to take risks to compound it.

10 years of that would have me over $5M, which is easily flip the table money even in a high inflation environment.

Retirement is a number, not an age.

But folks I know who earn that and much more per month end up chasing 'legacy' projects, e.g., big donations to their college, trust funds for the kids, a familial estate in a secluded area, and the like. Then a summer house in Tuscany, lavish trips, Petrus with dinner, that kind of thing. Expensive club memberships, boat(s), etc. There's a ton to spend money on really, especially if the social circle you're in has significant means as well.

Well I'm at $8,400/mo. after taxes right now and my mortgage is at a little over $200K. So, I'd have some $25K/mo. to put on my mortgage. I suppose I'd just go and pay that down in 8 months.

After that probably spend some on a few guilty pleasures like a nice car, a few watches, maybe a sick vacation. Sock a ton of it away into a brokerage account and the real estate market and be laughing in a few years.

I'm planning, when I leave NYC, to try to achieve something like that. Less of the high intensity buzz, more connection with nature and so on. Trying, more and more, to surround myself IRL with people with a similar approach to life: willing to deep dive into discussions without automatic assumptions, trying to enjoy a good life - maybe buying a smoker say, and smoking brisket for some friends. Bake bread (I do this already) etc.

I have a kid on the way so that'll play a significant role too, but sometimes I look around NYC and don't really feel enamored by this place at all any more.

Asmongold wise af there. People like to harp on about money making you happy, but what's really important is identifying what adds value to your life and putting your money where it does make you happy and not putting it where it doesn't (or worse yet where it adds stress)

People who really enjoy crazy cars, that's where they should put their money. Everyone has their thing(s).

Honestly, I think the people who believe that money will make them happy are folks that don't have that much of it. I know very rich 'silver spoon' type persons who struggle with depression, body image issues, the belief that they'll never find true love because 'people want their money', etc.

Happiness is a state that honestly comes from within. A tell-tale sign is being able to sleep well at night - knowing you've 'done the right thing' that day, and consistently.

I make $37,500 a month doing travel anesthesia and I spend it on investments and taking hot ass girls out all the time to nice restaurants and lounges and going on sick vacations. That’s all I spend it on besides basic living expenses

Yeah after I watched that video I started to get his sense of humor. Then his content made sense. On twitch he has over 100k viewers sometimes - must be a sweet gig as he says to play games and do reaction videos and make multiple 7 figures a year.

Max out investments and retire by 45. Buy a bunch of land, build a house and a 3 bay shop on some property and fuk around with project cars, maintain the land, shoot guns, raise my daughter, enjoy life with my wife, travel and just live a relatively simple life financially free.
