So I do a bit of bushcraft for hunting/camping, building shelters and blinds and other things out of nearby materials to save money and make traps and hunt animals.

Bushcraft is a lot of fun, and a lot of people do dugouts like this.





Well it got me thinking, why stop with dugouts?

I realized that a lot of people throughout history build tunnels just for fun and for hunting and war.

If you can make a completely hidden dugout shelter like a spider hole, you can safely conceal people or weapons or materials or moonshine whiskey or what have you.

Would be a great way to do stealth camping, another hobby of mine, which is camping without being detected by anyone. Some pics that got me inspired.

I actually used to enjoy sharpening a shovel and digging holes as a way to add GPP to my lifting program

Think I'm gonna build some of these, get my hands on one of these babies to make it go much much faster:



I will dig some small narrow holes to hide stuff like rifles and moonshine from the gubbmint

Will dig some larger "L-shaped" holes to camp inside and hide chit inside as well

Maybe I can take my girl camping and we can bang and smoke and eat fresh grilled deer steaks in a dugout shelter would be romantic

absolutley this.very true.ive seen youtube vids of this guy and his son who just go around finding natural caves.dont know the channel but not hard to find out.anyway no way im doing that chit solo but can be pretty cool.i say go for it.get a few storage containers.saw a story recently this mom and son had tones of guns and money under their chitty trailer with a few containers underground batman style.they made a ton of money but the dumb hillbillies got caught stealing power.nobody would have ever known.really cool story but dumb people
