Applying to College in 2023: pinnacle of retardation

We are at the height of stupidity where applying to college is concerned. The norm is to now shotgun apps to 15-25 schools, need to include at least a few ivy league (when the kid knows there is 0 chance of getting in).

They give no regard to how they will pay 50k+ a year in out of state tuition, fees, room and board. "We'll figure it out" is their strategy.

Nobody has learned anything from the previous debt saddled generation, slaves to student loans, so they take out the max.

Here's the kicker: 4.0 is now considered LOW gpa.

PLUS you need to have at least 2/3 to be admitted to a top 25 school:

- be a minority,
- lgbtq+
- with a sob story to get into

People need to wise up and drop out of this retarded game.

Just become a tradie, save a few hundred thousand from 18-22 while living with parents. Invest in a tradie business and make more than all the cucks you went to high school with who are struggling to make 50k with their general studies degrees and 200k+ in debt. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

You forgot the application fee is usually around $75 to $125 per school.

I hear ya, but all of these entitled 18 yr olds fighting for places in over priced universities, still taking out 50k a year in loans and then will want them to be "forgiven" later. They are learning nothing from the current batch of under employed student loan debtors. They just want bragging rights that they got into Vandy (60k a year).

THIS.

community college for 2 years and get all your transferrable credits that are indeed transferrable to your university of choice
transfer into that desired university after those 2 years
KEEP MOTIVATED
know that the University classes will NOT be as LAX as your community college courses were (THIS IS SO IMPORTANT)

this is so important here too - IN CC YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MEMORIZE THINGS TO GET GREAT GRADES. AT UNIVERSITY (OR TOP SCHOOLS) THEY COMPLETELY SWITCH THIS AND YOU WON'T GET BY WITH JUST MEMORIZING THINGS. YOU HAVE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHY IT WORKS. THEY WILL THROW CURVEBALLS AT YOU AND ASK YOU FUNDAMENTALLY WHY IT WORKS THE WAY IT DOES... NOT JUST THE DEFINITION OF SOMETHING! i can't stress how important that is............

Who the F is paying this for 20 schools? Credit card debt? These kids are claiming poverty and getting full rides, so who is paying the fees?

some stem degrees, vocational (accounting/law) + healthcare totally worth it

that being said + majority of college students do not go into those so... your point stands

just dont try to cope into thinking a plumber is alpha compared to a medical doctor...

It depends entirely on who we are talking about. Doctor does not automatically mean "alpha".

A Doctor still has more social status compared to a Plumber
