What does a life for a guy look like if he never marries nor has kids?

I have girls I can date and marry right now but they're not the one I want to wife up. I keep them around as casual friends with benefits.

But at the same time, if there's a girl I do see potential with and like, either it doesn't go well, we realize some incompatibilities, or something causes us to go apart which makes finding the right one difficult.

I have dated probably around 50-sih girls, and only about 3 of them did i enjoy their company enough to have around on a regular basis.

Honestly i would rather just be single forever than settle down with a girl i don't click with well enough, because i enjoy time to myself and don't have issues with feeling lonely really even when alone. It seems though like a lot of people on here fear not having a partner. I've envisioned my future without one and it doesn't seem all that bad really.

I have a sickly uncle who is a foreveralone. Still lives in the home he was born into. A couple decades of alcoholism, DWIs, years of a pepsi habit with other barflies. He called me over the weekend saying he was having a stroke (I live hundreds of miles away) because I'm one of few that will answer his calls.

A woman across the street who is somewhat of a caretaker for him called to tell me more later. He probably won't ever return home because he doesn't care about getting better, never has. He kept smoking after his first stroke years ago. For years he has spent all day on ******** and tells anyone who will listen about how he has so many "friends" on FB. One of the loneliest people I've ever met, partly because he's creepy. Never had luck with ladies, so he took what affection he could get from whoever (literally took the misc insult advice "try men").

Not the fate all foreveralones will face, but some will.

Everyone's different.

I think some people would be relieved they don't have to worry about their finances (divorce statistics cope, wedding/honeymoon/birthday/anniversary expense cope, future kids cost cope), keeping someone else happy and prioritizing others over their self, and probably view their friends who went the traditional route as unfortunate, being unbothered by any movies/books/shows that highlight tones about the importance of family, and keeping their social life going with like-minded bachelors and the odd family man who comes out once in a blue moon when they have the time to actually do something for their self for once, and single/widowed sloots galore to jump between.

Some though might feel like it eats away at them, grow envious of traditional-life brahs (grass on the other side is greener mentality), feel negative response from subliminal reminders of movies/books/shows, not having a social circle or fulfilling hobbies/passions to fall back on, identify their coping as coping, fall into substance abuse, etc.

There's no one answer for how it'll play out for any of us who go that route OP - unless you self reflect and realize how you think, feel, and act when you're single or alone for too long. Do you remain goal-driven, enthusiastic, optimistic, and excited for the future? Or do you fixate on what you're lacking, compare yourself to others, and fall into bad habits?

I think all in all, a life-partner in crime to share experiences with and get frequent sex with sounds like a good deal no matter how you spin it.

Look around at other men who are on your level - looks, money, social status, everything.

Now look at their wives, as closely as you can. Not just her looks, but everything about her as a person. Is that a woman you'd want to deal with almost every day for the rest of your life? Is that a woman who you would trust with every fiber of your being, one you'd want to be a mother to your children, one who doesn't have social media, not unduly influenced by her pack of yentas, someone who will NEVER once be caught in a moment of weakness by Chad, someone who will follow you anywhere, and on and on?

I can seriously count on one hand, the number of women like that I've met in my life. 1%-2% would be a very generous estimate. Most dudes I've ever met are either divorced and/or deeply unhappy with their relationships. A small group is just kind of scummin' along and an even smaller group is genuinely happy and fulfilled. I don't see how you can ever just throw statistics to the wind, pick someone who you kinda like having sex with, and roll the dice with a 98% chance of fail.

Think about all the lonely single guys you know who have no real relationships and then realize that there are just as many that are now over 60 and have little hope to rectify it.

There's a reason that the suicide rate in male seniors is insanely high and a lot of them don't even get classified as suicide.

If you don't have a community as a male, go find one. Like now.

I sell products mainly to married couples.

Often one of the 2 is picking the product.
And the other one is paying for it.

Honestly lots of ppl aren’t that happy with their marriage.
They fear what will happen once their partner leaves tho so they will agree with almost everything.
Losing friends, sharing custody of the kids, losing the house.
Most married guys and girls are fking scared unless they have a good job, can buy their own place etc.

So basically OP what I see daily is not that encouraging for marriage.

Where I live it’s also difficult to buy a house by yourself so many ppl will try to find a partner so they can buy a house together.

A lot of people I think would not get married if houses were cheap.

Look at the dating sites etc lots of girls end 20s or in their 30s are looking for a guy to buy a house with and make kids with.
They don’t even know you, and want to have children and a house.

I think being married because of love is fine.
But lots of them are married because of other reasons.

My honest to god opinion is that financial planning is everything. If you have money, you will have comfort, friends and support. If you have children, and expect them to support you with friendship and money during your old age, this is pure foolishness. It's also unfair to put that kind of burden on a kid. Kids want to dream and live their own lives without a massive guilt trip of you dying alone in your own excrement. Would you visit your parents once a week? If not, how could you expect your kids to do that? Especially if they work five days a week and spend one day at worship. You'd be taking away the one day they have to spend with their children at the park.
There are so damn many really hurtful family interactions that I can't really say 'family is everything'. I would say that love is everything. Love could come from family, but often it's from your peer group, from pets, or from books. srs.
Before having kids it's a really good idea to have two important things. 1. a wide circle of peer group friends you can really count on. and 2. enough money

the ironic thing is that if you already have those two things, the urgency and importance of having kids seems a whole lot less pressing.

Even good/"ones you click with" can grow tiresome. Obviously, it will largely depend on your own personality though.
