With mail in voting, Republicans will never win a close election again
This is the one Covid instituted policy remaining that it seems like they will not relinquish because they know how powerful it is.
After Chicago voting in progressive Brandon Johnson last night after moderate Paul Vallas had been up in the polls, as well as the 2022 midterms being extremely underwhelming for republicans, not to mention 2020, it’s pretty clear that the main theme is mail in voting. Lazy people that previously weren’t educated enough in politics to feel motivated to make their way out to the polls are now voting because it’s easy and they get reminded every day by new ballots showing up in their mail, and these people are mostly voting democrat.
The two party system is gone. No one seems to want to talk about it. Also, no republican, even if elected, will be able to get away with removing mail in voting. It’s too engrained in the system now, and anyone who makes it part of their platform to remove it will be called racist and someone who doesn’t believe in letting everyone have the chance to vote.

2 party system was always designed to be easily controlled/manipulated.
What a lot of you guys bitching about the election results seem to be missing, is that THIS IS THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.
the people might be idiots and voting against their own best interests (not that Republicans and their wealthy bootlicking is much better) but these are legit results. Claiming election fraud in every election that doesn't go your way isn't helping the cause.

Isn't the military primarily republican? A large majority of them use mail in voting. A lot of seniors vote red and use mail in voting. Maybe the right should find out why people aren't voting for them instead of trying g to limit the ability of the country to vote. We haven't had a real republican since Bush Sr....

There's only one demographic that votes majority (R); White people.
Black people vote 90% (D)
Asian people vote 67% (D)
Hispanic people vote 60% (D)
White people are now 60% of the population down from 92%. You cannot overcome this voting discrepancy.
It was over in 1965; it just took about 50 years for it to come to fruition.
Mail in voting was unnecessary for (D) to pass. All they had to do was wait a few more years and become perpetual winners across the board.

"Mail in ballots" is simply cheating. They throw away the envelope, and then there's no way to know where the ballot came from. They could be just printing fake ballots by the thousands for all we know (probably are)
Brb trump is about to win
Brb stop counting for no reason
Brb hey bomquisha go print out some more ballots
Brb biden took the lead
Brb biden wins 51-49

They will if they embrace mail in voting and beat the Dems at their own game.
Also, Vallas would’ve 100% won the election if conservative and centrist voters hadn’t fled Chicago en masse post-pandemic. Over 50k people moved out of Chicago in 2020-2021 alone (so probably 200k+ by now) yet Vallas only lost the election by 15k votes.

It wouldn't be as bad if there was a hard deadline. None of this two weeks late ****. Personally, I don't understand why people can't securely vote online yet. Voting machines work on the internet......

American cities need to be saved.
I understand the sentiment when the people who voted for this are often too stupid to realize they signed Chicago’s death warrant (or just have bad intentions), but 48% of voters went the opposite way and tried to save their city. Millions of citizens never asked for this chit.

Do soldiers who mail in their votes when they are abroad, always vote D?
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Well look at California. Newsome won his recall simply because of mail-in voting and all the tactics CA dems used to eliminate enough votes against him and farm enough for him to keep him in office. Same thing they did to keep the LA DA in power. We're at the point where the only way to vote democrats out is to have overwhelming support for someone else, because they have everything so rigged in favor of big establishment democrats.

At least that is how it has been portrayed here in the states for years.

No republican white candidate is ever going to be able to run again without an onslaught of propaganda about how they’re terrible racist bigots. Even moderate democrats are now being called “maga” white supremacists

Their issue is not the mail in votes, its that they are having close call elections.
If they ran candidates that had an overwhelming chance to win, it would rarely be a concern.
They usually wheel out someone with barely a chance and then pray they get elected. Thats stupid.

With better candidates, would certain races have an even bigger margin of victory(Ron desantis in Florida)? Sure. But that’s not the point. The point is the close races that in the past may have occasionally swung the republicans way. That extra 2-3% from mail ins will be the difference between flipping important close mayoral/governor elections, having majorities in the house and senate, and future presidents. Compounded over years, this could mean huge issues for the country, especially at this very important stage in our country when things are going off the rails really quickly.
The waning white demographics was already a tough hill to overcome. Mail in voting is a knockout punch.
