Which one was better?

I'll play both later on but wondering what y'all thought, given both are iconic survival horror games remakes.

That's funny because i literally was thinking about creating this thread a week ago. I ended up buying RE4 remake and beat it and it's now my new GOAT game. It's actually even better than original RE4 which was already a perfect game. Can't vote though because i've never played Dead Space.

Anyway, i'm going to buy Dead Space remake after i beat The Last of Us which i'm trying to play without thinking about the show, which felt like a chore to watch. I hate having to spend full price on games when i have Game Pass, but so many good games have been coming out.

Good news is the game will make you forget about the trashcan show.

never played Dead Space so I'm unaware but I've watched gameplay footage when the remake came out and it just seemed way too dark for me (as in actual darkness, no light)

The Remake for Dead Space could have been 70 years ahead of its time graphically and it would still lose to RE4 Remake even if you removed the entire last third of the game. There was never any comparison, Dead Space isn't as great of a game as RE4

RE4 by a hair, but both are near perfect remakes that need to be played so it doesn't even matter.Gender neutral bathrooms, they hid one characters boobs (and made her drop a line about having a girlfriend) when she used to have huge ones, and made the love interest into a hag when she used to be hot. Mostly little chit like RE4. Also, like RE4, the game itself is so good that you should ignore the subtle woke chit they put in (it's really not in your face about it, other than the throwaway lesbian line).

Haven't played RE4 yet but deadspace remake is AMAZING

They dont look THAT bad IMO, but I think it shows the current lack of originality and new IPs, exclusives wise 2023 is a bit lack luster for my tastes... not much has been announced to be released this year that deserves the hype.

RE4 was a game I was sceptical about if it really needed a remake since the OG was just so good already

but when I actually started playing mind was blown how much they managed to improve

being able to walk and shoot being the biggest one but so many QOL improvements like quick selection for the weapons etc.

I've been gaming for over 30 years and I love retrogaming but this made me realise how spoiled I became when it comes to games

it's hard to go back to the OG after playing this remake, described it somewhere as you can play the game you REMEMBER playing, today

same with the Tony Hawk and Crash Bandicoot remakes, sometimes it's not just an easy cash grab but an actual valuable addition to gaming as a whole
