Stephen Hawking: “People who boast about their I.Q. are losers.”

Did you know that IQ test were a part of job interviews before the tests were banned for employers to use?

I would agree with many in the field of study who say that intelligence is not yet completely understood and far too complex to boil down to a single number.

IQ used to be tested by SAT, GRE, military, etc but eventually it was considered unfair

No IQ is the best single predictor of educational and socioeconomic attainment.

True. Singapore is another high IQ nation and they have zero crime

The test isn't perfect but it still measures g-factor or general intelligence, which has the highest correlation with performance across all tests.

Lmao being born into wealth and privilege is the single biggest predictor of "socioeconomic attainment"

I would argue that dedicating your life to the pursuit of material wealth and fleeting decadence is downright foolish

Won't argue with you on the first point. But all things equal, IQ is the most important.

Actual intelligence is extremely important for socioeconomic success. But pure dumb luck is far more important, the most specific example is how well off your parents are.
Wincel's above average intelligence but I'm not sure if he's that high of an IQ

How well off your parents are usually plays a role in your IQ I think, which is luck. But there are definitely other factors to consider in terms of success than IQ

Isn't the actual number called the "accumulative IQ"? More or less a real IQ test (not these one's online you guys claiming to have a 140+ did) they break it down into sections. It's possible to be brilliant in one area and derp in another. In fact, geniuses are usually this way. Also possible to be derp in all areas which would be red no avi miscers.

Unfair to whom exactly?

A lot of standard testing involves a lot of value on recalling trivial knowledge. I remember one of the questions on the HS exit exam was where was Abe Lincoln born and what date was his birthday, what date did the battle of Gettysburg begin, George Washington's birthday and the name of his house.... that is completely irrelevant information. In reality, the ability to utilize resources to gather information is a much more valuable skill, and the ability to process information is even more relevant. To be able to take the information you process and create solutions and solve problems is significant.

I think it was considered racist because other ethnicities didn't perform as well on IQ tests as whites. Asians would be an exception but there were less Asians in america when they changed the tests

SAT, GRE, ASVAB for military, etc traditionally weren't and aren't trivia tests. They mostly test vocab and math

Turns out he was just some low IQ tard who was abused as a kid lmao. So disappointing.

Takes a lot of skill to kill 70+ before getting caught, but it turns out in Gary's case, the police were just unbelievably incompetent and he had some incredible luck that no one even drove by once while he was dumping a body.

I know the exact bridge where he dumped a bunch of them and it's not a quiet place. Constant traffic.

Yeah he must've gotten lucky

back in the day it must've been easy to be a serial killer. No dna, cameras, cell phones, etc

As long as you didn't get witnessed doing a crime or caught with evidence you'd get away with it
