Maíz Morado

This is maíz morado which means purple corn.

It is very nutritious and is considered to be a health food.

It is an heirloom corn that was a staple of the Incan Empire.

It goes for about five to ten dollars per pound, and it is very delicious.

For reference, the average acre of corn in the US yields about 177 bushels of corn.

That is around 10,000 lbs of corn per acre, it is a very valuable heirloom corn.

Even if you grow a small plot, by hand, traditionally, it is worthwhile.

Most importantly it feeds you and is delicious corn.

Even a small garden can grow heirloom crops.

Just useful knowledge to share with you.

Small farmers here have to specialize.

Because of corporate factory farms.
Beans. Cleans. Gasoline.
