Looks peaceful but too isolated for me. But Upstate New York is dirt cheap and breathtakingly beautiful. I’ve always said if it wasn’t run by the NYS government, people would be flocking to Upstate New York in droves.

Most people buy these as a chill spot for hunting/camping/riding quads and stuff like that. IE a second home.

I'll be picking up something similar (though most likely a good deal nicer) soon. Want mine on a river/lake. Preferably at least 2 bed 2 bath.

At one point, some urban youth living in this house in 1992 couldn't even afford a glass of water in the morning.

problem with places like this as secondary residences is that townie kids will **** your **** up regularly and hop heads will steal anything of value you leave there during the week. We have an old ass projection TV at our camp because its too heavy to bother stealing compared to a flat screen. Literally anything of significant value is a target.

That's the only downside, but it's a nice picturesque peaceful tranquil oasis when you just want to get away from it all, unwind, detox, and work on a Ted Kaczynski style manifesto in privacy...wait wut?

There are other places all over Upstate, NY with a ton of acreage and nice old cabins/farmhouses/cottages.

This place was sold for $220,000, and it has 3 cottages on almost 40 acres

This old farm was on 288 acres, when it was first on the market it was $1.7 million, then sold for $650,000. The house was damn beautiful too. Just needed some updating, decorating, and for the kitchen to be redone.

Beautiful Foreclosure on 24.99 acres. For $189,999

Could you even own a gun to fend off the inevitable bear attack in upstate NY?
Isaiah 45:22-23. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

God damn thats cheap (500 acres one) hnngh. Would buy/10.

The log cabin is too close to other houses for my liking and not enough land. It's not bad for the price though i guess.

Wouldn't mind buying some off grid place in the UK in a forest or something with 20-30+acres. Would want it near a water source like a river down hill and solar panels and heat pump. Would be 10/10 if you could connect it to a water borehole or something.
