How hard/stressful is your job?

I've done several entry level jobs, the easiest job I had was working in a supermarket but the pay is a bit ****.

-Electronics retail. That job was physically tiring because I had to stay on my feet all day. It was also a bit challenging with rude customers.

-Pharmacy. That one was pretty stressful, on my feet all day, rude customers, mismanagement was bad.

-Bank. The pay is better with this one but customers can be jerks. Non stop work etc. Mentally stressful. Have to be careful every minute cos I could **** up and let fraudsters access accounts etc

I'm starting to realise every job is difficult. I just hope I make it in crypto so I don't have to wage slave so hard just to pay bills.

WFH so that automatically makes it easier.

Almost never deal with phone calls, but do have lots of web-meetings / emails / chats.

Type of work is cyber security, and therefore you have to deal with some employees who are laymen, resistant, snarky, upset/angry. And for larger-scale incidents you have to deal with fast-paced higher level folks like directors and vice presidents, potentially being a major component of the incident and not wanting to portray yourself as incompetent, so it can be a little stressful and anxiety inducing from time to time. I've had some literally sweaty days before.

I'd rate it 4/10 stress on average. 7-8/10 hard because it's pretty technical and requires some high level or out of the box thinking pretty often.

I'm currently at the bank and know what it's like when you don't want to look incompetent. I deal with business customers, some of them have millions in their balance. The other day one tried to intimidate me saying they had 3 million in their account. Stresses me out a bit knowing I deal with some rich people, firstly I don't want to seem like an idiot but secondly I feel like I gotta be extra careful. I always double check what I'm doing.

I work in the call centre but it's call after call after call. I just want to take a ****ing break to be honest. There's so much **** to know tbh. Every call is some different bull**** that I'm not prepared to deal with

I make $26/ hour and stare at a screen all day. I do maybe ~45 mins to 1 hour of work per day.

just misc and listen to podcasts.

may sound good to some, but the boredom is maddening.

Wish I could just exit the rat race totally. I have super low expenses and live with my gf, but the ~$60k I make across my few sources of income isnt chit.

i work in a museum. I walk back and forth 7 hours a day and act like I am smart. Which people usually believe. Sometimes i tell visitors to please mind a distance to the paintings. Then they say they are so sorry and I smile a little

and tell them its okay many people forget they shouldnt get too close. Around once a year we have a fire alarm this is where the action and my training sets in. I tell the visitors to please leave and use the stairs. I walk down the

stairs and outside with the visitors and we watch the firefighters check if everything is okay. Then we go back in.
Everything I post is trash.

6-7/10. I'm a backup/storage/dispatch technician for a managed IT services provider. Basically a glorified tradie. A backup failure of a critical server can get pretty fukking stressful if its getting near end of day and you're still trying to get something halfway helpful out of your vendor's support

I’m an anesthetist at a level 1 trauma center. It’s 10/10 stress with people trying to die and having to save them like every single day but I get paid $500k for 40 hours a week. If I work 60 hours a week I make $720k so that’s nice but it’s really stressful. The job is hard due to stress and anesthesia is basically an art and every patient reacts differently so every case is different in a way and there’s no way to predict how people will react to the drugs you’re giving them. Also most surgeons are straight up douchebags so dealing with their egos is annoying as **** but when you are making a ****load of $$ it makes it easier to deal with.

If you’re not literally shaking and completely drenched in sweat due to adrenaline of having to save someone’s life in a few minutes at most because they have no blood pressure or heart rate or you can’t get an airway so they aren’t getting any oxygen and will be brain dead in 5 mins flat then you don’t know the meaning of stress.

2/10 stress. I work with financial derivatives. I switched companies and things move so slow here lol. I legit don't think half the workforce actually does anything.

DoD as well, I couldn't get away with what you're describing (I'm in a role that actually has a fair bit of accountability) - but I also do slack a hell of a lot.

Shyt can get a bit stressful at times, but a good portion of that is just me getting wound up/pissed off over dumb shyt. Compared to legit high stress jobs (which I've had) it's chill as fuk.

Work as a paper pusher. My work is mindless but sometimes the clients are junk. 26/hour, in terms of jobs I've worked (from management, to clerical to all kinds of things...) I'd say its a 3/10.

In big academia (fundraising among other things) make bank 300kCAD but stress level usually high. Varies with calmer periods, but atm going through politics and backstabbing so 8/10 temporarily. Meditating + sauna daily to mitigate
