I remember getting on this forum when I was a kid on my Father’s account (which I don’t even remember the name of) I would browse the WWE sub-forum, after a year or two I stopped checking the site.

Years later in 2013 at the age of 16 I remembered this place and made my own account. It was around the time I started really getting into lifting.

I’ve been visiting this place on and off ever since. There were periods of time in my life where I was extremely bored, depressed and lonely. But this place was always here, it didn’t matter if my real life friendships drifted apart or whatever personal problem I had going on. I always could come here and chop it up with you fellow societal misfits.

Plus this was one of the only places where I found so many like minded people gathering. People with similar opinions and people going through similar issues.

I know many of the best posters aren’t on here anymore or they aren’t very active but some do remain.

I just wanted to make an appreciation post for this place, because there were some tough times where this place was really all I had to keep me sane. This place kept me occupied during many nights of insomnia, made me feel not so alone, this place was like my escape into a different world.

I know times have changed and this place isn’t the active hub it used to be, so the magic really isn’t here anymore but I’m grateful it’s still around.

the misc is the freedom the internet was designed for, an unfiltered exchange of thought....be it as it is,,,accept this is 100% reality and everyone else is copemaxxing.

Its crazy that 2013 was 20 years ago already

Every word hit me in the feels. The misc has been there for me as well through some of the best times of my life and the worst, and I’m grateful for everyone here.

Yes, here on the misc we are almost characters. We escape into this alternate world, we are known by our usernames, we share only the details we decide to, and other posters create ideas in their heads of who we are based on our online usernames, posts and personas.

In a way here people get to be someone different than they are in real life while simultaneously being exactly who they really are. People often enter this space and turn the dial up for entertainment while also being comfortable enough to talk about things they couldn’t talk about anywhere else. There really isn’t a place like this anywhere else on the internet.
