Bought my brother tickets to a comedy show for xmas, says he wont go

Bought him two tickets for a really good comedian, show is tonight. He told me today he won’t go now because the guy he was going with is on vacation, and another friend is hosting a going away party today so he will probably go there instead. Comedy show is like 19:30-20:30 or something. Tickets cost me about 70 bucks.

I know they’re his tickets to do with what he wants, but makes sense im pretty pissed right? Seems really disrespectful to me.

Next year he gets a pen or something srs.

i'd hate that present cuz i find comedians cringy asf. I only like 'organic' humor. can't stand comedians for the most part. It'd actually be a punishment for me

Getting people gifts that require them to go somewhere at a specific time or date without their prior knowledge is tricky.

Sounds like he had initial intentions of going but things changed and now he's not.....that's life.....especially if he didnt REALLY care to go in the first place, he was probably only going because you got him the tickets anyway. Tell him that he owe's you $70 bucks or ask him for the tickets back and try to sell them quickly.

I agree, next year get him a t-shirt or something.
