I'd give a dog the benefit of the doubt that the dog won't bite. Most don't. Some are overly zealous.

I have a German Shepherd that just loves everyone and she's still a puppy so kind of hard to get her to know her boundaries. Anyone hurt her, I'm going to hurt them, they kill her, I"m going to kill them, I don't care about legal stuff.

Been bitten twice by other dogs, in all my time spent around rando dogs at various training fields. Neither was serious.

If your dog ran up to someone and started mauling them and they fought back, what would you do?

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

That's what happens to me when i'm on a walk. Jake, the little dog, starts barking and running toward me. Thankfully he only wants love and attention and to muddy up my pants or shorts with his paws.

Thankfully haven't had a big dog angrily run at me. Don't know what I'd do other than try to protect myself, or run to climb a near by tree.

This almost happened to me when leaving a college stadium with my family yesterday. In the parking lot, a Man was holding his leash with 2 large welsh terriers who looked like they were interested in a tussle (barking and jumping as we approached). After dealing with a 4 yr old all day who had been testing my patience since 7am, I was looking for these terriers to give me a reason to toss them around in front of their dad
