my thing is, i remember when the #1 at mcdonalds was $3.39, now its like 8 bucks or something. mcchickens used to be $1 and id always look at the "dolalr menu" now most places dont have any food for $1, and a mcchicken is now $1.99.
closest its gotten to the way it was is now they'll do breakfast sausage muffins $2/3.
but chyea its wild seeing the cost of fast food like a #1 more than double in your lifetime.

They had a good gimmick at being dirt-cheap food, but now you're better off just going to the mom-n-pop places.

Start going to local spots, you’re being a bigger clown.
Last night I got two meals of goat vindaloo, butter chicken and two orders of garlic naan for 32 bucks. Both meals come with rice and it’s enough for 2 servings.
Plus that was Uber eats, one of the rare times the price is actually worth not driving there yourself.
I swear spicy Indian food is so satisfying at night while laying down and watching a movie after.

Restaurants are becoming a non-option tbh. Sometimes I'd rather just fast for the day than consider spending north of $15 for an actually filling meal from a fast food joint.
Just got a medium sized ~1100 Cals thin crust Dominos pizza, and it was $17. Thankfully ordering online for takeout comes with a 20% off coupon, so it was closer to $15 after considering taxes and stuff. But then factor in gas and it's probably $16-17 still.
The only exception I've noticed is Taco Bell's "build your own cravings box" for $6. If you're a fatass you can get 2k+ Calories from it. But if I get what I actually like (3 crunchy tacos, 1 nacho bellgrande) it's around the $14 mark again.
If people actually read their credit card statements, they'd be appalled by their food consumption spending every month.

My financial advisor got me to go through my credit and debit card statements years ago with highlighters to show needs vs wasted money. It was a huge eye opener. Stopped the frivolous spending and had over $1000 to add to my investments and savings each month. That’s why the younger generations are all poor and can’t afford houses, spending hundreds if not thousands each month on fast food, coffee and other crap they don’t need.
Don’t even get me started on vehicle finance payments
