I hereby concede that APPLE makes the best computing products.

Had a DVD I wanted to watch
Have a very nice PC (16gb ram, 512gb SS drive, etc)
Have external DVD USB player
Wouldn't play on my PC between 4 different softwares
Tried GF's Chromebook, wouldn't play across 2 softwares
She pulled out her MacBook from 2010 as a last resort
DVD played without any issues

Literally the oldest computer we own and it played perfectly. She hasn't even turned on that computer for almost 2 years.

ITT, we see a PC illiterate pleb giving his uneducated opinion on things, because he doesn't know how to provide correct video format support, and how to easily fix it

Who GAF about "higher performance" when the computer doesn't fukin work lmao.

I don't want to spend 3 hours finding which "codec" to download in order to play a dvd. FUK OFF with that chit.

and no, it wasn't a bootleg dvd, but even if it was, I'm sure the apple would have played it...

The real question is, why are you scrambling around trying to find a laptop to play a DVD/blu-ray on when you're apparently chilling at home? Go buy a basic blu-ray player right off the rack at Target/Best Buy/etc. for $50 for a TV and be done with it.

Yeah and? I work in tech and everyone I know with a semblance of skill uses a Macbook or some trash Lenovo or Dell running Linux. No one uses Windows except secretaries and CEOs who use Outlook and watch golf videos.

EDIT: graduate school, out of 12 people off the top of my head, 8 Macbooks, 3 Linux systems, one dude had a Chromebook for notes. Zero Windows machines, almost all the Linux guys had Win10 running in KVM or Virtualbox for specific apps.

Ha, caught you.

Apple = automatically means their proprietary OS, e.g. macOS

however...

PC means personal computer. It does not = Windows. PC can be anything, like Windows, or Linux, or whatever homebrew OS you cook up yourself.

Apple sucks. Most techno literate people will always go Android/PC because of the freedom, customization, etc. It's how technology is supposed to be. Meanwhile, Apple is the commercialized training wheels for illiterates
