What does your gym session look like today?

Time for a lifting thread.

What did you do at the gym today?

Or if you haven't gone yet but will later - what do you plan to do?

Today I hit three compounds -
Heavy: OHP
High Volume: Composite Leg Press (my new favorite leg machine by amassiveamount - literally only second to actual squatting for lower body movements imo)
Lightweight: Lat Pulldowns

Finished off with some lateral raises and rear delt flies just to give some more attention to the non-anterior portions of my delts.

Relatively quick, very simple. Very enjoyable.

Came home and took the pupper on a 30 min walk to finish off the day.

How 'bout you bros?

Volume guy so lots of legs.
hack squat machine standing reverse toe raises
2 plates to 7 plates a side, 10-15 reps
seated calf raises 10 reps, 1 plate up to 4(4th set 5 reps) plates a side.
standing toe raises on military press until it burns

leg extension 15 reps from 75pounds until i reach 240.
lying hamstrings 10 -12, 60 pounds until it burns badly usually 140pounds
standing hamstring curls on leg extension machine, 55 pounds as many reps as possible.

The Latinas hog all the squat racks and leg press machines, so some days after 2 hours i have to leave, we will see today.

Brb rest days are important too.

I never ran 531 - do you enjoy it? How effective do you think it is? And if your answer is that it isnotenjoyable, do you find the results make it worth it?

First time she's seen me in workout attire, she looked surprised and had an involuntary smile appear.

And yeah, it is very motivating. Sometimes I end up running behind a hottie in tight shorts/leggings, seeing that thong sweat outline is a major motivator. Only lasts a bit though because I almost always can run faster than them.

I'm cutting so I'm more focused on preventing injury and maintain muscle mass while the fat comes off. So I'm not going for PRs or even very heavy hits.

I've got a 20lb sledge hammer and a big tractor tire at home

Hill sprints

Knees over toes home workouts

I have 2 gym days

Shoot I'd be more worried about doing hill sprints causing injury than some squats or leg press, but I've beenveryfortunate to have a nearly injury-free lifting career.

How often are you deadlifting? I've cut back to once every two weeks and I actually think I'm seeing improvement from the decrease in frequency. Similarly, I usually only work up to one heavy set and call it good (srs)

Once every 5-6 days. I've been doing one set in the 8-10 range and it's been working well.

Man one of the strongest P4P guys I've ever met (powerlifted in college and set some records back then srs) used to swear by "don't deadlift to increase your deadlift. Squat a fukk ton, and deadlift occasionally to keep the movement nice and smooth". Always blew my mind, but hey maybe low frequency and just one good set now and then really does work lol.

I like it a lot. You get to make slow, yet consistent progress. It's set up in a way to where you won't fail a rep for a long time, you're always trying for rep PRs, and it's highly customizable.
