The more money I put into the stock market, the less money I have

What's going on lately? The last 6 months I've contributed to my 401k and investment stocks and it just goes down and down...Might as well just keep everything and put it in a High yielding account of some sort.

There's a short answer and a long answer - but as a finance professional, I pulled most everything I own out of wall st. Fukk them ded srs.

Been largely sitting in cash for the last year and a half.

CMG & BRKB are the only stocks I'm holding.

Angus is peppered (50+ limit buy orders w/ 6 mo exp).

Ah, it’s starting.

The threads about markets being rigged and going down forever to zero.

Time to think about buying.

Exactly the same threads appeared about bitcoin a few months back, it’s up almost 100% since then.

Really? How many casinos made endless billionaires and millionaires over the decades?

Like all those countless people who saw the obvious rise of Apple years ago and made tons of money, they were just totally gambling? Really? You really believe that?

Why did it go up, though?

1. Premature evacuation (muh fed pivot).
2. Dollar delusions (but, but, but muh brics).
3. Bank failures (fIaT iS dEaD).

Why would it go back down?

1. Higher for longer.
2. Dollar is still king.
3. That sucking sound of money evaporating as banks continue to tighten lending.
4. The R word.

We'll see where the chips fall. My money is on red.

Lettuce beef real tea, the only reason plebs are allowed to "participate" in the markets at all is because 95% of retail trading accounts are net losers. Very few people are able to beat the HFT machines or 10 ton gorilla institutions by trading in the their underwear on a 2015 Dell laptop. The tiny fraction of dudes who are should be making tens of millions trading at a hedge fund, not their own chitty accounts.

In the late 90's you were totally gambling on Apple.

I had a tech friend who told me to buy Apple at pretty much it's lowest point, and I didn't.

This was before the ipod

If you are buying stocks with the intention of regularly obsessing over your gains and being sad when it's down you're already doing it wrong. The average person has no business being a short or even medium term trader, or even picking individual stocks.

Learn how to play Bitcoin's halving cycles if you want to make serious cash, in short periods of time. Or if that's too much for you then just stick to boomer index fund investing where you check your account once a year srs.
