Fighting Game Fans?
So, a long while ago I was a SF2 tournament guy.
Been looking for other games to play, and for a while followed the Tekken scene.
Was thinking about SF6:
But it just doesn't wow me. Back in the day I loved King of Fighters.
What are you folks playing these days in the Fighting Game circuit?
Also, JFL at Pokchop vs Real Law for those aware.

Feel like this genre used to be way more popular in the 90s and early 2000s then kinda fell off. All you got now are die hard Mortal Kombat fans but not a whole lot else

Once upon a time I played like 50k online matches in umvc3
I live a 10 minute drive from 8 on the break, used to go all the time. Alot of east coast pros played there, it was right next to the train station so easy to get to for the NYC players
I was pretty mid, I had my good moments, I played low tier characters tho

I stopped playing fighters once SSF2THDR was left behind on the 360. Never got huge into the genre but enjoyed the old Tekkens and MKs
***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***
***Misc Dads Crew***

I have been out of the scene for a very long time. Trying to see what might be worth it - my mind went to SF6 since when it comes it might require a whole new skill curve that I could get in on at release.
And then they go and use a tranny for the showcase a few years ago, so I dunno...sigh.

I really enjoy these games but I am a true, true casual.
I absoloutley suck at them and don't have the time to learn so I usually have a bunch of fun in the arcade and story modes, get my ass kicked online a few times by 8 year olds then move on.

Mostly just SF for me. Simple gameplay with a high ceiling is perfect to me. SF4 is easily my most played fighter ever.
Haven't really been able to get into any other fighters. KOF and MVC take too much effort since you need to learn 3 characters. Tekken's move list with 100 different moves makes me anxious lol.
Might give Guilty Gear a chance at some point. Easily the best art style of the major fighters. The latest one actually seems to be holding a playerbase too.
