I'm liking you more and more. Cronenberg for me as well. He knows how to make a good body horror. My personal favorites are Crash, The Fly, and Videodrome.
I've always found Lynch to be pretentious, but he never fails to deliver in using the best scores and music for his films.

it's better to suck dink than to be killed
"My outer appearance was poor, but in this way my inner world became richer than anyone else's. Was it not natural that a young boy who suffered from an indelible drawback like mine should have come to think that he was a secretly chosen being? I felt as though somewhere in this world a mission awaited me of which I myself still knew nothing." --Yukio Mishima

Lynch has made better films, but i struggle to define his overall philosophy. He does have one though, i just find it hard to sum up. Unlike Cronenberg's which is clearer.
Cronenberg = human body adaptions through trauma or technology.
Lynch = ?

Lynch simply for Twin Peaks. As crazy as it is, imagine it in the 90s. Seriously changed TV forever.
Inter-dimensional beings that feed off of human pain and suffering, which entered our world from the first nuclear bomb going off.
Learning lines backwards then reverse playing them while having a creepy midget dance.
