Squats and deadlifts same day?
Would it be wise to go heavy on both on the same day?
Or better to alternate
E.g go lighter on squats and heavy on deads one day then next heavy squats light deads etc

You can but I wouldn't go heavy or high volume on both. I'd do one heavy and one lighter for volume and alternate. Some powerlifters do sbd days, where they squat bench and deadlift on the same day. I prefer to do then on different days personally.

Why not?
Have been doing it forever. One is an accessory to the other, and then you flip it the next session.
So it could be:
Day 1:
Heavy Squats
Accessory Deads
Day 2:
Heavy Deads
Accessory squats
I do the same thing with OHP/Bench

You continuously ask the dumbest questions over and over again. You need to die

Yes alternate, and it’s good to do them on the same day because it gives your back more time to recover.

Ultimately, if you're doing SBD, half the time it's just to impress other dudes cause sloots don't care about your PRs or really an overdeveloped lower body. I get all the hypertrophy i need from machines and higher volume.
If i did care though, i wouldn't do both heavy on the same day. Also straight leg deadlift is a popular complement to squat

Different days. Leverage supercompensation.
"There is no question that belts assist in generating a few more Newton-meters (or foot-pounds) of torque in the torso through elastic recoil of a bent orso that is stiffened with a belt. However, if a neutral spine is preserved throughout the lift this effect is minimal. In other words, to obtain the maximal effect from a belt, the lifter must lift poorly and in a way that exposed the back to a much higher risk of injury!

Try it and see if it works for you. Don't rely on other people to tell you what you can and can't do.
Chuck Sipes worked as a logger all day and then lifted for 3 hours.
He also eventually killed himself, so maybe not the best example.
