maximum rights is basically upheld and enforced by the govt. for example (you could have your children taken away by CPS for what they deem or would call "abuse"). you can't exercise authority over your children because children are "equal". These standards change over time.

maximum freedoms, i.e: just letting everybody do what they want as long as it is within "the law" and it isn't so called "hurting anybody". even if it destroys the fabric of society itself. tends to coincide with people abusing such freedoms and not willing to take responsibility. what you get is what you see today, drag queen story hour, widespread late-term abortions, STDs everywhere, feminism, men saying nope to western women, simping, Onlyfans, alcohol-cels, promiscuity, breakdown of the family unit, single-mothers on welfare, etc. I guess this is the price we have to pay for so called freedom, not that I agree with the govt being in absolute control.

both these combined together lead to a slow burn and a downward spiral of a crumbling society. without basic so called "traditional" values or spirituality that are upheld at all costs that preserve stable family units, child upbringing, marital relationships between man and woman, sense of community belonging/obligation and some standard of anti-degeneracy.

For some yes, for some no. You'll have more control over your life. However, more room to ruin it. On the extreme ends you have the role model prisoner who flourishes under a strongly structured environment, but they are released and as soon as they are left to their own devices their whole life goes haywire. On the other end you have someone who lives off the grid who can't follow any direction but doing things their way, they do very well. A lot of people are somewhat in the middle.

If individual choices and actions don't notably impact the survival of the group then said rights and freedoms may continue up until there is an undeniable impact on survival.

So degeneracy seems to show up most often at the advanced/end stage of a civilization when there is enough excess production that a sizable number of people have the luxury of wealth and time to engage in said degeneracy.

When humans are living in smaller groups nearer the edge [production meeting most needs and maybe some wants] ain't nobody got time for that. The majority of community members will reign in any individuals whose actions are detrimental to everyone.
