Who else is still holding out....

Still driving my 97 obs...really looking for a daily as the 97 left me stranded the other day. $60 crankshaft position sensor and were back going.

I work for a ford dealer and new cars are piling up, used cars are still moving but prices seems to be improving.

I think another 6 months you will actually be able to get a GREAT deal on a vehicle.

Heard used prices dropped 3% this month, hope it continues but don’t think it will
Slow new car sales means less trade ins
Less trade ins means less used for sale
Keeps prices inflated

I’m driving an 05 Escalade , just crossed 100k miles
Wouldn’t mind getting a Lexus ls430

I would like a simple accord or camry, comfortable with fuel economy but I just can't do it.

If prices do not get better by the fall, prolly gonna break down and get another 5k civic or accord.

I'm driving my 1984 C20 6.5 swapped diesel for now. It's comfortable for me (6'4" with sciatica) and gets about 20mpg, but it's only a beater and my 1979 K10 383 is showing it's age from rust and electrical quirks. My plan is to sell the diesel and keep the gasser as a resto project. I've actually been considering a 2023 Colorado Trail Boss. GM seems to have good luck with the 2.7T and finally seem to have a good 8 speed auto. I'd love to rock a RAV4, AWD Camry or Accord but I swear japanese manufacturers are in a competition to see who can have the hardest and most narrow seat bottoms.

I rented a RAV4 and a Camry for long road trips, and both times I needed to fold my coat on the seat for more cushion. Plus Wyoming winters can be rough, so a truck or SUV with extra ground clearance would be beneficial. As a backup plan I'd consider a used 2018/2019 F150 with the 5.0, they seem to be very reliable. I don't trust any American manufacturers that make an engine with DOD or the like with the exception of GM's 2.7T.

Had my mind set on an AWD Maverick but those are hard to come by in my area, at least, none under $35k that is. I know I'm going to get hosed on my trade, so I might make the decision this summer to wait for a trade-in deal and look for whatever else is on the lot that isn't marked up.

They're such a great deal right now, unfortunately dealerships are ordering bloated versions of them and still adding markups. I'd love a bare bones 2.0T AWD version of it, but I doubt I'd be able to order one in a timely fashion.

Bought a 2009 F150 Lariat 4 door, 4x4 wrecked (pretty bad front end damage) in 2019 for $7k fixed it myself for $2k in parts and a couple weekends and it's been my daily ever since.

Went to just look at a newer truck a few weeks ago and had a real chit experience at the dealer, but moral of the story...... realized that the difference in my truck and a newer one really isn't that much or at least no enough to justify picking up a $700+/month payment.

I work from home, so it just sits most of the time, but my job just revised our positions and now I have to drive to the jobsites once/week (about 230 miles round trip each time) and while I get reimbursed mileage......averaging 14mpg on 35's that cost $300 a piece and racking up miles on an older truck has really got me thinking about picking up a reliable "beater".........but hell even those are $5k-$6k these days.

Daily driving a 2020 Mustang and about to sell my 2022 BMW e40

Was gonna look to upgrade to another car but I've got a 5.0L V8 in manual and they're hard to get around here so I'll supercharge it and chuck in a couple of racing seats instead

Too late for me. Lexus transmission was crapping out. And I was just gonna sink $1900 into it.

Am hoping the used market crashes, or at least comes back to reality a bit.

The transmission went out in my son's 2002 Ford Ranger finally after 249K miles, and selling it "as is", so have been looking for a good used rig for him to drive till he leaves for USMC boot camp in September and for my 15 year old to drive once he turns 16 in November. Son is driving my 2018 Tundra in the mean time, while my wife drives my 2020 Jeep SRT, and I am driving my 2020 Ram work truck. So not in a hurry, but do need something before Thanksgiving.

Finding a decent 10'ish year old / $10K'ish / 100K'ish mile reliable rigs with good MPG has been brutal. Can find rigs that have 2 of the 3 criteria, but finding all three hasn't been easy. Decent toyota Prius / corolla / camry / Rav4, Honda civic / accord / CRV, Subaru Impreza / Legacy, etc are all listing for thousands over Blue Book. Anything meeting all criteria has a reconstructed title.

In a perfect world I would just get the boys an older 4Runner / Tacoma, but folks want $15K for 20+ year old rigs with over 200K miles.

I sold my 99 tacoma 4x4 with 345k miles on it for 7k last year...it's insane.

I'm still holding out, I don't want finance a vehicle but really needing a decent work car.

Been holding out for nearly 2 years

Spent sooo much time looking for a C5z or c6 for a weekend car. Just lol.. I swear to god.. what happens? Doug demuro puts out a video talking about how the C5z is such a great sports car for under 20k. Now guess what's not 20k anymore.

Pair that with general used car prices and American car companies killing the V8 engine and yeah now corvettes aren't that cheap anymore

The C5Z was a bargain for the longest time. They’re sick cars for sure.

I just love the look of the C5z. It comes off as timeless to me personally, and the sound of American v8s are just pure music to me.

Yep, prices just seem to get worse, esp now that summer and spring are rolling around and people are actually driving their vettes again.

Anyways my desire really was mostly for a fun rwd car I could rock around on the weekends and maybe take to a track, nothing serious. After I gave up on the corvette I did get a chance to test drive a 2022 brz. And I loved it. It's so fun to drive even if its not a big powerhouse or V8. I don't really know what's stopping me, I could go order one right now, I guess I've just been too lazy idk. Part of me is still just holding out for... Something idk what. It's the first time in my adult life where I have enough extra money to splurge on nearly whatever car I want within reason, I guess I just don't wanna get something I don't absolutely fall in love with.

The meroni is at my office I can check on Monday to see what's in it.

RAM is having issues selling their trucks, so this dealer for the month of may has 20% off or .9 finance.

Patiently waiting for another Lexus GX470 or LX470. Prices were insane a few months back (more so than normal) . They are slowly coming down.

So I sold my 1984 C20 pickup with a 6.5 diesel swap before I moved out of Wyoming, and into Vegas. Man I wish I kept it. I thought the market would be better out here, but dealerships have diamond hands on their prices. At work I have a discount with the local Toyota dealership, and they have 2k markups on Camry hybrids and won't allow discounts. Plus insurance is a lot higher due to thefts and people getting into accidents and getting salvage titles from fender benders. I have my other truck, a 79 K10 gasser, but it doesn't have ac and it's carbureted so it swigs gas.

I might just yugomaxx, brahs. For now it's not so bad, I live close enough to work to have a 10-12 minute walk, and I use the truck on the weekends to do errands. At this rate, I'm just going to buy a Japanese 4 pot beater on marketplace to get better daily transport.

I got my sons a 2013 Prius. It’s gets 53’ish mpg. It feels like it’s literally printing money for them to drive my. Saves me an easy $50 a week with gas at $4.30 around here.

For basic NFG transportation, I’m now a pretty big fan of the Prius. Comically cheap to own and drive.

I never should have sold my 84 . You couldn’t drive a block without someone commenting or giving you a thumbs up .
3.73 gears and a four speed standard . Only thing is I wish it had A/C
